12/1/2010 10:38am EST
Hilary Swank
Hilary Swank struggled to gain weight for her role in new movie Conviction and forced herself to eat food even when she was full in order to bulk up.

The Million Dollar Baby star plays an unemployed single mother who earns a law degree so she can represent her brother in court in the film. Swank was required to put on 15 pounds for her part - but she found it hard work eating enough food to build up her svelte frame, and even gave up her regular workouts.

She tells New York Post newspaper columnist Cindy Adams, "I personally have difficulty keeping weight on, and for this role I had to ...

Hilary Swank attended the 2nd Annual Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences Governors Awards in Hollywood wearing a substantially poofy black and blue dress. It's too much! What do you think?

Hilary has been receiving glowing notices for her recent film "Conviction." Will she be an Oscar contender?

In the film, Betty Anne Waters (Swank) and her brother, Kenny (Sam Rockwell), survive bad parenting and poverty by leaning on each other for support. Kenny grows up to be something of a troublemaker, eventually being convicted for a murder he swears he didn't commit.

Minnie Driver stars in the new film "Conviction" about a woman (Hilary Swank) who goes to law school after her brother (Sam Rockwell) is sent to prison for a crime he didn't commit. Minnie plays her only friend.

We're glad Minnie is back in the spotlight. Doesn't she look great?

Juliette Lewis
Juliette Lewis attended the L.A. premiere of "Due Date" in Hollywood yesterday looking quite respectable in a pretty lavender gown. We think she's looking much better than she did with the blue locks she sported at "The Switch" premiere over the summer.

The actress was involved in a hit-and-run crash earlier this month. She was heading home from a Los Angeles screening of her new film "Conviction" when another vehicle slammed into the side of the car she was a passenger in at an intersection in Burbank.

She was taken to a hospital and treated for whiplash before returning home to continu...

10/18/2010 4:00pm EDT
Michelle Williams
Michelle Williams attended the 54th Annual Times BFI London Film Festival "Conviction" premiere wearing a red lace dress. The dress itself is rather boring, but paired with brown and black leopard print heels is just puzzling. What was she thinking?

Michelle is currently filming "My Week With Marilyn" about an employee of Laurence Olivier who documents the tense interaction between the actor and Marilyn Monroe during the 1957 production of "The Prince and the Showgirl." Williams is playing Marilyn.

The actress has several other films in production, including "Take This Waltz" and "Th...

Hilary Swank
The relatives of the murder victim portrayed in Hilary Swank's new movie Conviction are considering legal action over allegations they were not consulted about the real life story's journey to the big screen.

The new film is a Hollywood re-telling of the case of Kenneth Waters, who was jailed in 1983 for the murder of Katharina Brow, and released after 18 years when DNA evidence linking him to the killing was disproved.

The film stars Swank as Waters' sister fighting for her brother's freedom, but Brow's children are upset they were not consulted about the picture, according to

"Conviction" directed by Tony Goldwyn, is the incredible true story of Betty Anne Waters, an ordinary working class mother of two, who embarks on an 18 year quest to free her brother, Kenny, who's sentenced to life in prison for a murder he didn't commit. Sam Rockwell as Kenny Waters gives one of his best performances to date and Hillary Swank, as his sister, Betty Anne Waters, makes us remember why she won two Oscars. Rounding out the excellent cast is Juliette Lewis, Minnie Driver, Melissa Leo, Peter Gallagher and Clea Duvall. "Conviction" is about one woman, who not only defies the o...

Trailer Talk: This Week In Movies - 'Jackass 3-D,' 'Conviction,' & More

10/12/2010 10:41am EDT
Robert De Niro and Edward Norton’s latest collaboration “Stone” turned out to be a serious disappointment. While both of the actors turn in decent performances in their respective roles, the film’s writing and directing are seriously lacking. “Stone” dabbles in several concepts such as morality, spirituality, and loyalty; however it does not pay enough attention to any of them to make a cohesive story.

Norton plays Stone, a convict seeking parole, who employs his attractive wife (Milla Jovovich) to seduce his parole officer (De Niro). Over the course of the film it’s never quite clear S...
