As the first week of the Tribeca Film Festival draws to a close, I must say that I feel like I've been treated to the Four Seasons of movie-going. Every film I have screened has been at the very least good, but most have fallen on the side of the fence that is exceptional.

There no longer seems to be much originality in Hollywood. When did the ability to sit down and write a captivating screenplay from scratch go out of style? It seems that Hollywood is stuck on turning cartoons and video games into movies. And there's the predatory sequel often lurking and waiting to be as bad as the original movie or better, if we're lucky.

Milan Records releases music from the motion picture "Flags of our Fathers," featuring an original score composed by Hollywood legend Clint Eastwood, previously Golden Globe nominated as a composer for his work on "Million Dollar Baby." Along with his score, his son Kyle Eastwood also provides re-recordings of classic music from the period.

Vietnam epic Apocalypse Now has topped a list of the "top 50 films to see before you die." The war drama, starring Robert Duvall, was selected ahead of Jack Nicholson classic Chinatown, which came in fourth place, and cult favorite Donnie Darko in ninth.
