Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer
One of the best parts of the holiday season is Christmas TV specials. No matter what your background, it’s easy to enjoy the uplifting stories that go along with the Christmas season. Here are our top 5.

5. Rudolph the Red Nosed Reindeer (1964)

This may be the most popular Christmas special of all time, who cares if some crackpot thinks it promotes bullying... Thank you FOX news for your annual "War on Christmas" and giving someone like that airtime. Rudolph has aired on various networks every year since it debuted on December 6, 1964 on NBC, making it the longest running special to d...

And The Best TV Christmas Episodes Ever Include...

December 17th, 2010 12:20pm EST
The Office
It’s quite hard to narrow down the best TV Christmas episodes ever. To help accommodate this dilemma, I am limiting myself to three classic TV specials – cartoons, variety shows, what have you. The rest will be regular TV segments from some of your favorite series. Here, in my opinion, are my favorite Christmas episodes of all time. Are they the best? Not necessarily. With a certain degree of schmaltz, you can’t always expect the best. In descending order:

10. ‘The Office’ – ‘Christmas Party’ – Dec. 6, 2005

This series’ first Christmas episode features the “Yankee swap” in which Mi...

One holiday. One month. One woman. Thirty individual movies. Readers ready? Go!

Day Twenty-Five: December 20, 2009 - Love Actually

"Love Actually" is a long one, as far as holiday movies go. Some would assume it is too long for a genre that is notoriously known for cheesy carols and over-the-top design. However, what is at the core here are some very sweet (and often intertwining) stories about young love. From the racy movie stand-ins who come together (no pun intended), bonding even in awkward situations, to the elementary aged boy who is convinced he has found his true love, to the...

A Salute to 'A Charlie Brown Christmas'

December 25th, 2008 9:26am EST
A Charlie Brown Christmas
Christmastime is here! You can always tell when the Sunday paper is twice as thick with ads and the "lite" radio station starts its Christmas music programming right after Halloween. People flood the stores at obscene times like 5:00 a.m., and high-end stores are open 24 hours. Good grief!

However, when we hear piano music and children's voices singing: "Christmastime is here, happiness and cheer, fun for all, that children call their favorite time of year," that signals the beginning of the most beloved and enduring shows ever, A Charlie Brown Christmas. "A Charlie Brown Christmas" ...

Tis The Season For... Christmas Movies?

December 24th, 2008 6:20pm EST
Charlie and the Chocolate Factory
Aah, the holiday season. Strange how we cherish a time of year when the malls are over packed... it's cold outside... it's impossible to find a parking space... the line at the post office is out the door even at their slowest time of day... it's impossible to find the season's latest hot toy... people who have no clue what 'hustle & bustle' means and stroll slowly through busy stores so you're stuck strolling right behind them when all you want to do is get in and out. Christmas shopping is a mission, not a casual day at the mall to comparison shop. That's what the internet and the weekly ...

December 14th, 2008 9:15am EST
Scrooged
Most people have heard of The 12 Days of Christmas and most no nothing more about them than the strange song with geese a-laying and five golden rings somewhere in the middle section. For some they mean a religious celebration beginning on Christmas day and ending with Epiphany on January 6th, the day the three Wise Men delivered their presents to baby Jesus. For those of us who worship movies as a religion we can present some gifts to ourselves, and our fellow movie lovers, by celebrating the 12 Films of Christmas. Whether you choose to lead up to Christmas with these classics or flip the ...

Starpulse's 'Top 10 Christmas Movies Of All Time'

December 1st, 2007 11:00am EST
How the Grinch Stole Christmas
I'm sitting with my family at the Thanksgiving table. At the focus is the bird carcass, a bulging centerpiece surrounded by newly stuffed bodies. The cranberry jello, still quivering in the shape of the can, is the only untouched side dish. There is a settling quiet as the full-stomached groans subside and give way to satisfied smiles, until finally somebody strikes up a conversation. Like the feeding frenzy that preceded it, it starts out slow and steadily grows more frantic.

"Oh you can't put that on there!"

"Says who? You... oh yeah.. Mr. Expert."

"I like Love Actually."...
