Meow! Christina Aguilera Channels Catwoman At David Letterman Taping

June 10th, 2010 1:36pm EDT
Christina Aguilera
Christina Aguilera wore sparkly tights, a leather jacket and red pumps to the "Late Show With David Letterman" on a rainy day in New York City Wednesday. Her short 'do and skimpy outfit kind of loosely remind us of Catwoman. Not the crappy Halle Berry "Catwoman" though.

The pop star has been popping up all over recently to promote her new album "Bionic."

Christina unexpectedly canceled her tour recently, and now we now why (at least, according to her). She wanted more time to thoroughly rehearse before heading out on the road, and she admits her recent acting work on "Burlesque" contribut...

Sandra Bullock-ALO-114716.jpg
Sandra Bullock was shamed as Worst Actress at the 2010 Golden Raspberry Awards on Saturday - just a day before she's tipped to pick up an Oscar.

Bullock picked up the spoof movie trophy for her part in All About Steve, which she also co-produced, even though she is one of the favorites to win an Academy Award at Sunday night's Oscars ceremony for her role in The Blind Side.

The Miss Congeniality actress received a standing ovation as she took the stage to pick up her Razzie - the first Worst Actress recipient to attend the show since Halle Berry was shamed for her role in Catwoman in 20...

Sienna Miller Is Latest Catwoman Wannabe

January 19th, 2010 1:58pm EST
Sienna Miller Is Latest Catwoman Wannabe
Sienna Miller has become the latest star to covet the role of comic book villain Catwoman - the British actress would "love" to play the feline femme fatale in a new Batman movie.

Movie bosses are currently making plans for the next installment in the superhero franchise, a follow-up to 2008 blockbuster The Dark Knight. And producers are rumored to be in talks to bring back Catwoman for the new film, the character played by Michelle Pfeiffer in 1992's Batman Returns and again by Halle Berry in a 2004 spin-off from the Caped Crusader movies.

Stars including Charlize Theron and Kate B...

Sylvester Stallone's Broken Neck, And A List Of Hollywood's Most Painful Injuries

January 7th, 2010 11:01am EST
Sylvester Stallone
The other day Sylvester Stallone revealed that he had a metal plate placed inside his neck after a freak accident while filming a fight scene for his new movie The Expendables. Many stars want to do their own stunts, either out of pride or a desire to make the movie as real as possible. However, few have escaped unscathed.

Stallone has always insisted on doing his own stunts, and said he had his worst injury while filming Rocky IV. He insisted that co-star Dolph Lundgren actually punch him during takes, and Dolph delivered a stunning punch to Stallone's chest. His ribs compressed agains...

'Adventures Of Pluto Nash' Tops Film Flops List

November 28th, 2009 9:03am EST
The Adventures Of Pluto Nash
Eddie Murphy movie The Adventures Of Pluto Nash has topped a new industry poll of the film flops of the new century.

The 2002 film, which cost $100 million to make and recouped less than 10 per cent at the box office, edged out John Travolta's critically-panned Battlefield Earth in the new Hollywood Reporter list of shame.

Also making the top 10 flops are Quentin Tarantino and Robert Rodriguez's Grindhouse, Catwoman starring Halle Berry, Gigli and summer film Land of the Lost.

August 26th, 2009 8:44am EDT
Megan Fox
Megan Fox has become the latest star tipped to take on the role of Catwoman in a forthcoming "Batman" movie. The sexy star is rumored to be in the running for the part, if The Dark Knight director Christopher Nolan decides to resurrect the legendary comic book character, last portrayed on film by Halle Berry in 2004's Catwoman.

Actress Michelle Pfeiffer also suited up to play the villainous femme fatale in the 1992 blockbuster Batman Returns.

According to British tabloid The Sun, 23-year-old Fox will step into the famous PVC catsuit to join Christian Bale and Michael Caine when filmin...

When Good Actors Do Bad Movies

August 7th, 2009 9:20am EDT
G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra
Entering theatres with a torrent of bad buzz, "G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra" has all the makings of a big-time flop - not necessarily a shock given the thin source material.

What is surprising, however, is the appearance of indie stalwart and critically acclaimed actor Joseph Gordon-Levitt in the role of Cobra Commander. It's not the kind of fare he's normally associated with, but he isn't the first good actor to show up in a bad, bad film.

Why does this happen? There are myriad reasons, but these are the most popular:

Material temptation: It's not easy turning down a $20 million ...

Everything Geeky - Give Female Superheroes A Chance!

August 4th, 2009 2:25pm EDT
Wonder Woman
At the San Diego Comic Con I was speaking with Michael Jelenic, the writer of the recent animated movie "Wonder Woman," and we were lamenting that the film did not do quite as well as everyone hoped. Even with the positive critical response and excellent promotion, it just didn't get the high sell numbers fans were waiting for, although it did moderately well overall.

The reason I personally watched closely was because without proving that a female superhero can sell DVDs and toys, it is unlikely we'll see very much more of it in the mass media. They mostly sold the movies Elektra and C...

Beyonce To Play Eartha Kitt?

May 3rd, 2009 6:00pm EDT
Beyonce Knowles
Beyonce is in talks to play the late great Eartha Kitt in a new film. After portraying Etta James in Cadillac Records and emulating Diana Ross in Dreamgirls, the singer/actress is hoping to complete a trilogy of diva roles by taking on original Catwoman Kitt on the big screen.

She says, "I was going to do a film about Eartha Kitt. It's a great story, but I don't know if it's still happening. If it does, it'll just fall into place."

Kitt died on Christmas Day after losing her battle with colon cancer at age 81.

We all remember the ABC hit sitcom "Home Improvement" that ran from 1991-1999 about a man (played by Tim Allen) and his television DIY show. The role of the very attractive Tool Time Girl Lisa was played by buxom actress Pamela Anderson. How hot was Pam in her tool belt and cut-off jean shorts? We think very, very hot! Now imagine how sexy a few select Hollywood beauties would look in that same get-up.

Check out five ladies who would definitely fulfill their DIY duties in perfect form while donning a tool belt:

Review: A Fan's Reaction to 'Watchmen'

March 5th, 2009 11:09am EST
I grew up in a comic book store, so most of my days after school were spent sitting in a beanbag chair reading graphic novels. It has been a fairly exciting few years for comic fans with the emergence of the mainstream embracing what used to be considered a nerdy habit. With big blockbuster movies like Spider-Man, X-Men, and The Dark Knight taking over the Entertainment industry, it is easier to forgive bad comic movies like Catwoman or Daredevil because at least they're getting these stories out there. At least people are starting to know and love what we've known and loved for decades. Ye...

Race Matters: Is Hollywood Truly Color Blind When It Comes To On-Screen Romance?

September 29th, 2008 9:49am EDT
Die Another Day
In John Grisham's bestselling novel "The Pelican Brief," investigative journalist Gray Grantham and law student Darby Shaw uncover a political conspiracy and in the process, end up between the sheets. In the 1993 film version, Darby Shaw (played by Julia Roberts) and Grantham merely share a chaste hug in the film's conclusion. What happened between page and screen? One theory: In the novel Grantham is white; in the film, he's portrayed by Academy-Award winning - and black - actor Denzel Washington.

The stigma of interracial relationships in cinema can be traced back to the 1934 Motio...

Best & Worst Comic Book Superheroes On Film

June 11th, 2008 9:19am EDT
Robert Downey Jr.
With the temperature rising and summer almost officially here, there is no doubt that the multiplexes will be overrun by men in tights. With a handful of superhero characters hitting the big screen this year, it's only fitting to examine the best and worst portrayals of superhero characters on film.

Hugh Jackman as Wolverine - When it was announced that Hollywood was going to make an "X-Men" movie, fan boys all had the same question, "who will play Wolverine?" Such a beloved character, it was a joy to see Jackman accurately portray the man full of adimentium. Jackman perfe...

Things We Don't Want To See In 'The Dark Knight'

June 11th, 2008 8:45am EDT
The Dark Knight
There were eight years between "Batman & Robin" (1997) and "Batman Begins" (2005), which became a blockbuster hit, and it was no wonder considering the extremely negative backlash "Batman & Robin" received. With cringe-worthy puns from all of the main actors - George Clooney, Uma Thurman, Alicia Silverstone, etc. - and a lack of any plot substance or inner contemplation the previous movies had showed, it seemed like the Batman movies would be given an early grave.

Then Christopher Nolan signed on to the "Batman Begins" project, a film loosely based off of "Batman: Year One" written by...

Sharon Stone Dropped From Chinese Film

June 5th, 2008 11:45am EDT
Sharon Stone
Sharon Stone has reportedly been dropped from the cast of new movie Mermaid Island following her controversial comments about the country's recent earthquake.

The Hollywood actress stunned journalists at the Cannes International Film Festival in France last month when she suggested the disaster, which left more than 67,000 people dead, was down to "karma" - linking the tragedy to China's treatment of Tibetans.

Officials in the country had threatened to ban her films, with French fashion house Christian Dior also dropping her from advertising campaigns in the nation. And now her ...

Are There Any Bankable Actresses in Hollywood?

March 11th, 2008 2:30pm EDT
Halle Berry in Things We Lost In The Fire
Not too long ago Warner Bros. president of production, Jeff Robinov, stated, "We are no longer doing movies with women in the lead." Apparently, Robinov won't even look at a script with a female lead. Is this man spewing forth misogynistic quackery, or is he, as a businessman, simply stating the obvious - that women no longer come with built-in audiences, opening weekend numbers, and box office success?

Ticking off the names of guaranteed male money makers is easy: Will Smith, Ben Stiller, Adam Sandler, Will Ferrell, Tom Cruise, Bruce Willis, Jim Carrey, and even behind-the-camera ...

Halle Berry Wants Fun & Challenging Roles, Not Necessarily Oscar-Winning Ones

May 24th, 2006 9:19am EDT
Halle Berry
Halle Berry denies she's suffering from the 'Oscar Curse' that effects winners of the biggest prize in acting, insisting she's not interested in winning more awards. The actress has not been nominated since winning the 2002 Best Actress prize for Monster's Ball, but she did scoop a Razzie Award for 2004 movie flop Catwoman.

But Berry insists she gave up looking for potential prize-winning roles after winning her Oscar - for fear she'd be affected by the curse, which dictates actors' careers suffer after they win an award.

She says, "I didn't even try because I didn't want to suf...

Hollywood Agent Worries 'Wonder Woman' Will Wind Up Like 'Catwoman'

April 7th, 2006 10:04am EDT
Movie mogul Ron Samuels is challenging the producers of the much anticipated new Wonder Woman film to find an unknown to play the lead or risk another Catwoman debacle. A former top Tinseltown agent, Samuels discovered TV Wonder Woman Lynda Carter and married her, and he's now offering Joel Silver and the big names behind the new film timely advice - get someone new.

Samuels is far from impressed with any of the actresses supposedly in the running for the new role - including Charisma Carpenter and Sarah Michelle Gellar - because they're hardly statuesque beauties. And he thinks produ...
