The Strange And Surprising Career Of Cameron Diaz

June 23rd, 2011 1:00pm EDT
Cameron Diaz
Cameron Diaz is anything but a predictable actor. This Friday, “Bad Teacher” opens and will showcase Diaz’s R-rated comedy skills opposite Justin Timerlake and Jason Segel, an alumnus of the Judd Apatow school of raunchy humor. Directed by Jake Kasdan (“Walk Hard: The Dewey Cox Story”), Diaz stars as the world’s worst teacher who would rather get high in her car than teach her kids anything. While most moviegoers see her as just a pretty face who pops up in mediocre films, Diaz has had an incredibly unique and varied career in Hollywood over the last two decades.

Her breakthrough role ca...

Cameron Diaz Is The 'Worst Latino Actress'

March 3rd, 2010 6:01pm EST
Cameron Diaz in The Box
Cameron Diaz has been named the Worst Latino Actress of the past year for her role in film flop "The Box".

Diaz has topped the third annual Lazzies Awards list, handed out by Latina magazine for poor performances and bad films and TV shows.

She has been dishonored with the 'There's Always Waitressing Award' for Worst Actress for "The Box", with Latina bosses poking fun at her "bad southern accent" and her "deer-caught-in-headlights facial expression she wore throughout the entire film".

"Fame's" Walter Perez landed the 'The John T. Leguizamo Award' for Worst Actor and "Fast & Furious" wa...

Best and Worst Cameron Diaz
Cameron Diaz is one of the highest paid actresses in Hollywood but sometimes even her bubbly personality and breathtaking smile fail to entertain movie-goers. Although there have been critics that say she plays the same character in every movie, we love Cameron here at Starpulse. Her newest thriller, The Box, which opened Friday, November 6th, sparked our list of best and worst Cameron Diaz movies.

The Holiday - In the chick flick category this was one of our favorites, but in the acting category some skeptics say Cameron was not their favorite part. She played Amanda, a girl fr...

The Best And Worst Of James Marsden

November 9th, 2009 11:05am EST
James Marsden
There aren't that many former Versace models that can say their acting careers really managed to take off, but after fifteen years in the business James Marsden is finally starting to gain notice. With his movie star good looks and cheeky smile, it is only surprising it took so long! In 2000, Marsden first got blockbuster attention in "X-Men" as Cyclops, but he also found favor with audiences for his side roles in "The Notebook," "Hairspray," and "Enchanted." Last year he got a leading role in the hit romantic comedy "27 Dresses," and starting last week he stars in the dramatic thriller "Th...

'Twilight Zone' Episodes That Should Be Made Into Movies

November 6th, 2009 10:00am EST
The Box
This weekend Cameron Diaz and James Marsden star in the suspense thriller "The Box," but what not many people know is that the movie is based on an episode of "The Twilight Zone." It was originally taken from a short story written by Richard Matheson, and the movie might follow the TV episode or the original Matheson script; you'll just have to see the movie to find out. Still, it started us thinking on "The Twilight Zone" and how some of the most memorable episodes could surely be lengthened into full length features. The stories are scary, sad, odd, fantastical, and tragic; just the kind ...

Trailer Talk: This Week In Movies - 'A Christmas Carol,' 'The Box' & More

Sadly Boondock Saints II was an utter disappointment. While it had occasional bright moments, the film was marred by a number of problems.

Largely referential to the first film, it felt at many moments as if should be parodying itself, but it sadly wasn't. The overarching story tried to be overly complex in the web of manipulation it sought to weave.

Special Agent Eunice Bloom (Julie Benz) was a terrible replacement for Agent Smecker (Willem Dafoe), embodying every annoying Southern stereotype.

My biggest criticism of the film was that it was just too wacky; it had too many o...

2009 Fall Movie Previews
With summer coming to an end, there's one major thing to consider: what's going to be entertaining for the next three months? We assume you're thinking the same thing (great minds being alike and all), so here's the rundown of what Hollywood has coming:

Gamer (09/04/09)

Director: Mark Neveldine, Brian Taylor

Starring: Gerard Butler, Michael C. Hall

Gamer will be one of the coolest movies of the season because it actually manages to bring a fairly new concept to the action genre. In the near future, with mind control technology pretty much commonplace, billionaire Ken Castle (Michael...

The Future Seems Bright For '27 Dresses' Star James Marsden

James Marsden
Chances are you've come across James Marsden's dimples on the big screen and been charmed by the man behind them. There's a boyish quality to Marsden, but there's also strong leading man potential, which Marsden is finally beginning to enjoy.

After playing a string of good boys who can't quite hold onto the girl in films such as X-Men, Superman Returns and The Notebook, Marsden joked to Entertainment Weekly that his action figure line would be called, "'The Other Guy Series'-the guy-that-doesn't-get-the-girl action figures."

Marsden isn't destined to be "The Other Guy" much long...
