Angelina Jolie Is Pale In Paris

August 18th, 2010 3:30pm EDT
Angelina Jolie
Angelina Jolie looked a little pale at the Paris premiere of her action flick "Salt" on Tuesday. Speaking of salt, she kinda looks a little salty herself. Would 'old and crotchety' be going too far? Promoting films must be hard work!

No sign of Brad at the French premiere, but Angie says the couple makes sure to schedule "date nights" because she's convinced a little bit of romance will help hold their relationship together.

The actress carefully plans time away from their six children so they can be together as a couple - even if it only means sneaking off to another corner of their hous...

Matt Damon
Matt Damon's children are unaware their dad is a famous movie star - because they're so used to seeing themselves on screen as a result of new technology.

"The Bourne Identity" star wants to keep his children in the dark about his Hollywood status for as long as possible. His 11-year-old stepdaughter, Alexia, has seen Damon in a couple of his movies and understands he acts for a living.

However, he is thankful technology such as iPhones and BlackBerrys are duping his younger children with wife Luciana - three-year-old Isabella and Gia, one.

Spotlight On Clive Owen

November 21st, 2009 11:00am EST
Clive Owen
Born in Coventry, West Midlands, England in October 1965, actor Clive Owen is the quintessential handsome man. Put him in any movie looking dapper and sharp or get him rolling around in the mud and dirt and he'll still come up looking amazing.

Clive has not always been on the fast track when it comes to his acting career. Starting in 1988 through 2000, he appeared and sometimes starred in a number of British television series, TV movies and films. One of those notable films was "Croupier" (1997) where he played a troubled writer who begins to work in a casino in hopes of acquiring ins...

Matt Damon's Delight At 'Informant' Role

November 12th, 2009 2:56pm EST
Matt Damon
Matt Damon was thrilled to land his starring role in The Informant! in 2001 - because he feared his career was over after a string of flop movies.

Damon saw his popularity in Hollywood plunge in the early 2000s, and was convinced 2002 film The Bourne Identity would be a disaster following a series of problems on the shoot.

He tells Britain's Total Film magazine, "I had two movies that had come out that had tanked and Bourne had all the signals of being a disaster, because we shot so many times and it was delayed like a year coming out. The phone had stopped ringing completely. And y...

He says, "I always look at the violence (in a script). I don't want it to be gratuitous because I do believe that has an effect on people's behavior. I really do believe that and I have turned down movies because of th...

DVD Versus Blu-ray: Enjoying A Film At Its Best

June 3rd, 2009 9:00am EDT
One can only assume the somewhat recent onslaught of the "need" for Blu-ray comes only from a desire to have people buy films and television show sets over again. After having to update a copy of 'Sneakers' from VHS tape to DVD, a completely reasonable choice, the buck stops here. Yes, the technology is interesting at best, but it is brutally frustrating at worst.

The problem is not with the players, although they are extremely expensive still and the best player is still the one that comes in the PlayStation 3, the problem instead lies way back in the beginning of the cycle - the ...

Race Matters: Is Hollywood Truly Color Blind When It Comes To On-Screen Romance?

September 29th, 2008 9:49am EDT
Die Another Day
In John Grisham's bestselling novel "The Pelican Brief," investigative journalist Gray Grantham and law student Darby Shaw uncover a political conspiracy and in the process, end up between the sheets. In the 1993 film version, Darby Shaw (played by Julia Roberts) and Grantham merely share a chaste hug in the film's conclusion. What happened between page and screen? One theory: In the novel Grantham is white; in the film, he's portrayed by Academy-Award winning - and black - actor Denzel Washington.

The stigma of interracial relationships in cinema can be traced back to the 1934 Motio...

Must See (& Must Skip) New Dramas This Fall

August 27th, 2008 8:40am EDT
My Own Worst Enemy
Christian Slater has only one facial expression. His eyebrows are permanently arched in a slightly questioning yet slightly sinister gaze; he has a five o'clock shadow that no pancake makeup ever seems to hide; and his eyes are dark and brooding, appearing beady and almost dead without the proper glint from three-point lighting.

Skip "My Own Worst Enemy"

Yet NBC's My Own Worst Enemy (Monday nights at 9 p.m. starting Oct. 13) have him playing two very distinct men: Henry, the slightly dippy family man living in pre-fab suburbia, and Edward, a Jason Bourne-esque operative for a se...

Damon says, "We decided to wait till she's born, and then we're going to get a look at her, and we'll probably keep debating it." The Bourne Identity star also jokes about his female-dominated househol...
