Fall TV 2014: A Night By Night Comparison Of What May And May Not Work

May 15th, 2014 2:40pm EDT
Fall TV 2014: A Night By Night Comparison Of What May And May No
Now that all the big networks have revealed what they’ll be showing us this fall, let’s take a look at what may or may not work.

SUNDAY:

ABC is essentially playing it safe, and keeping Sunday Night intact. American Crime will swap for Resurrection at midseason. Resurrection was a buzzy drama that started seeing a ratings decline. Not waiting till midseason is probably a smart move. You don’t want to lose any more audience. It’s not a winning strategy, but ABC just doesn’t want to be in last place.

NBC has football, another super safe move. CBS is shaking things up, banishing Amazing Race...

2013 Fall TV Season: What Will Be The Second Cancellation?

October 8th, 2013 6:00pm EDT
Ironside
NBC- The Voice is still doing good numbers on Monday/Tuesday. The Blacklist is winning its timeslot, and was the first show (technically) to be rewarded with a back-nine pickup. Chicago Fire is also doing solid numbers on Tuesday. Revolution needs to regain some audience members if it wants a second season. With the success of The Blacklist, and Chicago Fire doing OK, Revolution is looking to be one of NBC’s weaker points right now. I can’t see it not running the full second season, but it might not get a third. Also, Ironside is definitely going to get cancelled. The premiere was so low, a...

'Bones' 9.2: Bobcat, Identity Theft, And Sweets

September 24th, 2013 12:17pm EDT
Bones TV series
An amiable Bones 9.2 last night, which begins with a bobcat and Cam being the victim of identity theft, and ends with a quiet bombshell about Sweets: he's taking an hiatus from his work with Booth and the FBI.

This is actually a sad prospect for viewers.   Sweets has been playing a crucial role in the stories on Bones, especially since he learned how to use a gun.  He's been Booth's de facto partner, especially important when Bones can't for whatever join Booth in the field.  How long the leave will be and who if anyone will replace Sweets is not clear, but the series will lack a unique so...

Top 10 Creepiest Film & TV Serial Killers

Top Ten Creepiest Fictional Serial Killers
Factual serial killers are scary. The idea that someone might be out there, on a deserted road or lurking in an alleyway, waiting to murder you is a horrible, horrible thought. But let’s face it: most of the time it’s the serial killers who keep you up at night are the ones that live on your television screen.

We’ve all been there: A Criminal Minds marathon on A&E, a Law and Order binge on Netflix instant... sometimes fictional serial killers are the creepiest ones of all. As Halloween approaches, I’d like to catalogue the 10 creepiest fictional serial killers.

Wishes Of A Television-aholic: 'Castle'

July 28th, 2011 7:30pm EDT
Fillion, Katic
This television-aholic loves shows that construct their own unique, heightened reality with eccentric characters and a moving combination of drama and angst and comedy. This is why I have been a fan of ABC’s “Castle,” starring Nathan Fillion and Stana Katic, since the very beginning. The cases can be hokey, clichéd and easy to solve, but "Castle" is all about the will-they-won’t-they chemistry between the two romantic leads.

Last season, Richard Castle, my favorite fictional crime novelist played to whimsical perfection by Fillion, confessed his love to his partner, Detective Kate Bec...

David Boreanaz Facing Sexual Harassment Allegations

July 22nd, 2010 11:52pm EDT
David Boreanaz
Bad boy actor David Boreanaz has been slapped with a sexual harassment lawsuit from a former extra on his hit TV show "Bones."

Kristina Hagan has hired top celebrity lawyer Gloria Allred to represent her, and accuses Boreanaz of sending her "sexually inappropriate text messages" in August 2009, when they began filming the crime drama together.

According to the legal papers, obtained by TMZ.com, Hagan shared a car ride with the former "Buffy The Vampire Slayer" star last September and told her he was "the boss" and could "make things happen for her."

The suit goes on to claim that Boreana...

Celebrity Pot Heads: In Honor Of National Marijuana Month

February 23rd, 2010 11:33am EST
Celebrity Pot-Heads
Not that Starpulse is condoning any type of drug use, but in Hollywood anything goes. And since it's Marijuana Awareness month, we're taking a look at our favorite stars who like to indulge in the marijuana dude! We've either seen them smoke it or heard they like it - so, let's celebrate them!

Snoop Dogg - Considering he has a song titled, "Smoke Weed Everyday" and there seems to be a cloud of thick smoke following him around like the Peanuts character, Pig-pen, we'd say he loves marijuana. In 2001, Snoop smoked a blunt in four of the four movies he appeared in- Training Day, The Wash,...

Why You Should Be Watching ABC's 'Castle'

February 21st, 2010 11:30am EST
Why You Should Be Watching ABC
With NBC having Law & Order, CBS living it up with the CSI franchise (not to mention Criminal Minds and NCIS) and FOX having surprise success with Bones, it's no shock that ABC has decided to give the crime drama genre another go after cancelling NYPD Blue in 2005. But this time, the network has decided to go with funny over gritty.

It may not be as edgy as Blue. But Castle, which debuted in March 2009 as a mid-season replacement, is one TV show that people should watch. Or at least put on their DVR list.

On Castle, Über rich and famous and playboy mystery novelist Richard Castle, pla...

What this year means for the entertainment world is anyone's guess, but there will probably be some blockbusters, some brilliant indie films, a few surprises and disappointments, and then excitement for the following year. But every once and awhile fans have to think about what little things they'd change in their favorite shows, and here's a look at a TV Wishlist for 2010.

7 Not-So-Scary Movies

The Blair Witch Project
Halloween is slowly approaching and you know what that means; a time for endless costume parties and for the sentimental ones, a time to cuddle up in front of the TV screen to get a healthy dose of scary movie marathons. Though there are oodles of horror films begging for the dust to be blown off of them, there are the others that are not worth pressing the play button on - simply because they tend to lack the scary in scary movies. Here are 7 films whose fright level is hardly lukewarm.
