Anne Hathaway has a phobia of other people touching her panties. The Becoming Jane actress hates hotel staff unpacking her suitcases, because she can't bear the thought of strangers rummaging through her underwear.

She said: "The weirdest thing that I still can't get used to, and I refuse to accept, is when people try to unpack my bags for me. It just freaks me out, I don't want people touching my underwear."

Hollywood actress Anne Hathaway read every one of Jane Austen's letters held at the British library to prepare for her role as the revered author. The 24-year-old thoroughly researched the 19th century writer in preparation for playing Austen in Becoming Jane.
