Michael Douglas turned down a role in Basic Instinct 2 because he didn't want to show his butt on-screen. The 61-year-old actor, who is married to Catherine Zeta Jones, did not want to reunite with Sharon Stone, 48, for the sequel because he thinks he is too old.

Douglas, who played detective Nick Curran in the original movie, said: "We did the first one as good as you can. You can't make the special effects any better. There was no reason to do it. They offered it to me years ago, and I just saw no reason to do it. Have you seen my rear lately?"

Basic Instinct 2 star Sharon Stone put her 9-month-old son in economy while she flew first class. The sexy star put her adopted offspring in club with his nanny while she flew from New York to Los Angeles in luxury last Friday.

A spokeswoman for the star told New York Post newspaper: "She tried to get them seats in first class but couldn't, and she didn't want them on a separate plane."
