10 Saddest Deaths In Kids' Movies
Most movies aimed at children over the years teach important life lessons that the kids can use to make the right decision when they grow older. The movies often end with the protagonist learning some tired and true fact about how you should always follow your heart or be honest and kind.

In a lot of those same movies though, it's often the journey of how the character arrived at that life lesson that is just as remembered, especially if the events along the way were traumatic. Disney and other companies have not been afraid to put some very adult-like developments into their children's fi...

'Finding Nemo 3-D' And The History Of Theatrical Re-Releases

September 10th, 2012 3:07pm EDT
Finding Nemo
Disney and Pixar's Finding Nemo will be getting a theatrical re-release this weekend, continuing a growing trend of films being brought back to the big screen with a third dimension added.

Theatrical re-releases had gone down recently, due to the increasing popularity of big screen home entertainment centers in high definition - but with so few homeowners having a 3D TV, producers are keen to cash in on the technology.

Prior to home theaters being the norm, many movie companies re-released their flicks every several years to give audiences a chance to see the spectacle on the big screen. ...

Sarah's Cinema Musings: This Summer's Hits & Misses

August 3rd, 2009 9:52am EDT
The Ugly Truth
Ok, we are almost through the summer season of film, and I, for one, feel like I am trying to resuscitate an almost dead corpse. Sure, there were hits, good films, and technical blockbuster hits, but were they really great or just great within their summer context?

The Blockbusters

Just because a movie generates revenue at the box office does not necessarily translate into a successful well-loved film. X-Men Origins: Wolverine for instance, didn't exactly start the season off with a bang. Star Trek was loved by both fans and non-fans; something that was a bit of a worry before th...

May 6th, 2008 12:38pm EDT
Bambi
Bambi...Cinderella...Tinkerbell -- all fictional characters from Disney films, and also some popular pooch names, according to research collected by nationwide pet insurance provider, PetFirst Healthcare.

"It seems to be an emerging trend for pet owners to give their furry friends a name that resembles a favorite automobile, favorite food or even favorite character," said Katie Grant, PetFirst vice president. "It's reassuring that owners associate their pets with their favorite things -- as, we hope, that translates into ensuring those pets receive the loving care and treatment they de...

Classic Tearjerking Movies

December 26th, 2007 3:55pm EST
The Notebook
The classic tearjerker movie. Many of us watch them with a diet coke in one hand and a box of Kleenex in the other. Whether it's a sappy Lifetime movie or an old classic romance, we enjoy watching them even though they make us weep like little babies. Some won't admit to tearing up, while others put the blame on "allergies" or use other excuses.

It's pretty hard to keep this list short, or maybe it's just because here at Starpulse we get a little sappy when it comes to this type of film. We somehow managed. Get out the box of Kleenex because you may need them.

My Girl (1991)
