Nike Launches Epic World Cup Ad Campaign
With the World Cup less than a month away, Nike has kicked off (pun extremely intended) its advertising campaign with an absolutely epic commercial titled “Write the Future.” Featuring global soccer stars like Didier Drogba, Wayne Rooney, Franck Ribery, Cristiano Ronaldo, and Landon Donovan, the commercial is a three minute cinematic experience directed by Alejandro Inarritu, the man responsible for “21 Grams” and “Babel.” There are cameos by Kobe Bryant, Roger Federer, and even Homer Simpson, making this commercial’s scope go far beyond anything we have ever seen.

CANNES, France (AP) - Martin Scorsese wants to save the world cinema. The Academy Award-winning director said Tuesday it was a ''dream come true'' to launch his international project at the Cannes Film Festival, where his ''Taxi Driver'' won the top prize in 1976.

Building Begins On Brad Pitt's First Energy-Efficient Home

Work began on the first of five energy-efficient homes designed by actor Brad Pitt in New Orleans, Louisiana earlier today. The Babel star, who has a home in the city with girlfriend Angelina Jolie, chaired the design jury on the properties for the Global Green USA project.

The homes will be 100 per cent efficient, producing their own electricity, and form part of a development of 18 apartments and a community centre in the Ninth Ward district of New Orleans. The area was left devastated by Hurricane Katrina in 2005.

The Public Is Divided About Who Should Win Best Picture Oscar

In the race for Best Picture Oscar, there is no clear "runaway" hit according to the American public. One in five U.S. adults (19 percent) say Letters from Iwo Jima should win the Oscar for Best Picture, while 13 percent each say the Oscar should go to The Departed and Little Miss Sunshine.

Eight percent of adults say The Queen should win Best Picture and 4 percent say the award should go to Babel. The largest groups, however, are the 20 percent who say none of the nominated movies should win, and the 21 percent who are not sure.

The Painted Veil and The Pursuit of Happyness are among the top 10 movies of 2006 according to the U.S. Bishops' Office for Film and Broadcasting. Happy Feet and The Nativity Story are among the top family films of the year.
