Director Adam Mckay has ruled out plans to bring Anchorman back for another sequel.

Both the 2004 original and long-awaited 2013 follow-up were hits at the box office, bringing in a combined total of nearly $260 million worldwide, but McKay is adamant there will be no more films starring Will Ferrell's news broadcaster character Ron Burgundy.

Will Ferrell's latest Anchorman-inspired comedy project has been picked up for a pilot by the honchos at NBC network.

The 46 year-old comedian and his longtime producing partner Adam McKay are hoping to find success on network TV with their new series, Mission Control.

The sitcom is described as a "workplace ensemble in the tone of Anchorman (which) examines what happens when a strong woman butts heads with a macho astronaut in the race to land on the moon."

Funnyman Will Ferrell's Anchorman alter-ego Ron Burgundy stunned fans in North Dakota on Saturday (30Nov13) when he joined a real live news show as co-host.

The actor, who is currently promoting Anchorman 2, joined KXMB's Amber Schatz for the Saturday night news broadcast.

Producers of the Anchorman sequel have offered a $5,000 reward for information leading to the arrest of thieves who stole $300,000 -worth of computers and equipment from the film's Georgia production base over Christmas.

The Atlanta warehouse used to store the gear was raided on December 27th and local police have launched an investigation.

It has emerged the thieves didn't target the site specifically but broke in as part of a carefully planned string of burglaries in the area.
