Now she's starring in the Disney film Maleficent as the titular sorceress who dooms Sleeping Beauty. Colin Farrell Gets A Career Do-Over

5/25/2011 3:24pm EDT
Colin Farrell
It’s rare in Hollywood for an actor to get a second chance at a career. The most recent example of a career rebirth is Mickey Rourke whose performance in Darren Aronofsky’s “The Wrestler” not only earned him an Oscar nomination, but gave him a new life as a serious and respected actor. In 1994, Quentin Tarantino pulled John Travolta out of the wreckage of his previously successful career and cast him in one of his most iconic roles as the hitman Vincent in “Pulp Fiction.”

Now, Colin Farrell is trying to re-start his career not as the star of mindless action movies (which he quickly became ...

12/31/2010 12:37pm EST
Colin Farrell
Colin Farrell spiraled into a deep depression after his blockbuster Alexander flopped - and even considered turning his back on acting for good.

The Irish actor starred as Alexander the Great in Oliver Stone's 2004 epic, and was crushed by the negative reviews his performance generated. Farrell subsequently fell into a slump and admits he felt the need to apologize to everyone who might have seen the movie.

He recalls, "That was tough. I say tough relative to a charmed life, but I'm not going to apologize for how much it affected me emotionally and psychologically. I was going to walk a...

She's a humanitarian, a mother to four children (with two on the way), a partner to one of the sexiest men alive, and arguably one of the most beautiful women in the world. A Salute To Irish Actors On St. Patrick's Day

3/17/2008 10:00am EDT
Colin Farrell
There’s something undeniably sexy about an Irish accent. Add celebrity into the mix, and you have a pretty powerful combination. Here are some of the Irish actors whose charisma, talent and lilting speech have made them favorites among moviegoers and TV fans:

When you think "Irish actor," Colin Farrell immediately comes to mind. A reformed bad boy who reportedly dated Britney Spears and made an infamous sex tape with former girlfriend and Playboy model Nicole Narain, Farrell has altered his priorities in the past few years.

Farrell recently showed his tender side when he opened...

Are There Any Bankable Actresses in Hollywood?

3/11/2008 2:30pm EDT
Halle Berry in Things We Lost In The Fire
Not too long ago Warner Bros. president of production, Jeff Robinov, stated, "We are no longer doing movies with women in the lead." Apparently, Robinov won't even look at a script with a female lead. Is this man spewing forth misogynistic quackery, or is he, as a businessman, simply stating the obvious - that women no longer come with built-in audiences, opening weekend numbers, and box office success?

Ticking off the names of guaranteed male money makers is easy: Will Smith, Ben Stiller, Adam Sandler, Will Ferrell, Tom Cruise, Bruce Willis, Jim Carrey, and even behind-the-camera ...

She says, "I don't want people to think I'm an alcoholic, but goddammit that was fun. Those guys can drink. I do like to party on occasion. Can't pretend I don't. I do like a drink on occasion. I'm not much of a liquor person. I'll just drink beer or wine all day."

Colin Farrell is set to play a New York policeman accidentally shot dead by another officer. The 'Alexander' star will play Eric Hernandez who was surrounded and attacked by a gang in January. After the beating, the dazed officer pulled out a gun but was then shot by a fellow officer who didn't realise the 24-year-old was a cop.
