Director Steven Spielberg kicks off the big-screen Tintin trilogy with "The Adventures Of Tintin," a computer-animated, motion-capture adaptation of Herge's beloved Tintin comic strip.

Produced by Spielberg, Peter Jackson, and Kathleen Kennedy, the first installment in the series finds adventure-seeking Belgian reporter Tintin (voiced by Jamie Bell) and surly Captain Haddock (Andy Serkis) racing to recover a treasure that was lost at sea four centuries ago. Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2
The final Harry Potter movie and Martin Scorsese's Hugo will lead the way at the 2012 Saturn Awards after scooping 10 nominations apiece.

Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows: Part 2 and Hugo will compete with Immortals, The Muppets, Midnight in Paris and Thor to be named Best Fantasy Film at the prize giving, which recognizes achievement in movie genres such as sci-fi and horror.

Filmmaker J.J. Abrams' Super 8 nabbed eight nods and Captain America: The First Avenger scooped seven, while The Adventures of Tintin and Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol both picked up six nominations.

Steven Spielberg's The Adventures Of Tintin and crime drama Boardwalk Empire are leading the film and TV nominations at the upcoming Visual Effects Society (VES) Awards.

The director's animated adventure has scored six nods, with three in the Outstanding Created Environment in an Animated Motion Picture category.

'Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol' Wins Christmas U.S. Box Office

Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol
Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol's super agent Ethan Hunt has beaten Robert Downey Jr.'s super sleuth Sherlock Holmes to the top of the U.S. box office.

Mission: Impossible - Ghost Protocol took over at number one on Sunday with a $26.5 million second-weekend take.

Sherlock Holmes: A Game of Shadows dropped a spot to two with $17.8 million.

Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked claimed the third spot and The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo debuted at four. Steven Spielberg's The Adventures of Tintin rounded out the Christmas Day top five.

Trailer Talk: This Week in Movies
I’m disappointed to report that I didn’t love Guy Ritchie’s Sherlock Holmes sequel “A Game of Shadows.” The first half hour is pretty boring, and although the action picks up pretty heavily toward the middle, Ritchie seems to care more about style than substance in the film. He continues to use Sherlock’s own bullet-time type slow-mo combined with crazy forced perspectives of bullets and shells being shot from guns, which admittedly is pretty darn exciting at times.

What the movie lacks though is the same great banter between Watson and Holmes that was present in the first film. Holmes...

Action thriller Drive was the toast of the 2011 Satellite Awards on Sunday night, winning four of the ceremony's top honors.

Nicolas Winding Refn was named Best Director, while the movie's lead Ryan Gosling fought off competition from stars including George Clooney, Leonardo DiCaprio, Gary Oldman and Brad Pitt to take home the Best Actor prize.

Albert Brooks landed the Best Supporting Actor trophy, and Refn's movie also won the Best Sounding Editing prize.

Steven Spielberg's epic "The Adventures Of Tintin," the "Cars" sequel and "Gnomeo & Juliet" are among the 18 movies in consideration for Best Animated Feature Film at next year's Oscars.

Also making the cut are "Alvin and the Chipmunks: Chipwrecked," "Arthur Christmas," "Happy Feet Two," "Puss in Boots," "Rango," "Rio" and "The Smurfs."

Steven Spielberg's new Tintin movie is an international smash-hit - and it has yet to debut in North America.

"The Adventures of Tintin: Secret of the Unicorn" opened in Europe to rave reviews last week and shot to the top of the box office in 17 countries, making an estimated $55.8 million.

The film doesn't open in America until December 21, but it will close the AFI Festival in Hollywood on November 10.
