T.I. Would 'Rather Be Acting Full Time At 40 Than Rapping'

8/28/2010 10:22am EDT
Rapper T.I. is deadly serious about becoming a movie star because he wants to be more famous as a Hollywood player than a hip-hop hitmaker.

The "Live Your Life" hitmaker admits he's yet to make money as an actor after earning small salaries for roles in films like "ATL," "American Gangster" and new movie "Takers" - but he's determined to become a big star following his 2009 incarceration on illegal weapons possession charges and is taking meetings with top executives in an effort to to land big roles.

He tells the Los Angeles Times, "I ain't made no money in movies yet, because of the fac...

T.I. was clearly a busy man before he left to serve time at an Arkansas prison. But before leaving, he made it a priority to embark on a final tour, record songs for a mixtape album and he had the opportunity to lay out his life story for an episode of "Behind The Music."

T.I.'s episode was a little different than the "Behind The Music" episodes of the past. In the past few episodes, the driving force behind the career downfalls of the artists was based on their alcohol and drug addictions. But in his case that downfall was due to his bouts with the law.

T.I. (real name Clifford Josep...

Outkast: In a Class of Their Own

3/27/2008 2:30pm EDT
As one of the hottest rap groups out today, Outkast has etched a mark in hip-hop history as perhaps the best rap group ever. They're in fair competition, however, with groups like A Tribe Called Quest and EPMD riding dutch. These groups, by coincidence, never took to transforming the perceptions of what many outside the South considered as nothing special into worthy rhyme sayers, putting Atlanta on its back and giving listeners something to nod to.

Outkast's Andre 3000 and Big Boi came together as a group in 1991 and signed to Laface Records in 1992. They were the label's first hip-h...

Fat Joe
A little more than 13 years after releasing his debut LP, Represent, hip-hop legend Fat Joe is definitely certified as one of the last of a dying breed. While many of his pioneering peers from that golden era haven't since gracefully bowed out of the game, Joe has constantly found ways to evolve over the years as not only one of the premier MCs in rap, but as an astute businessman with an ear for finding and cultivating talent such as fellow legend Big Pun, female fire starter Remy Ma and R&B crooner Tony Sunshine. Joe's business savvy has surpassed working only in music as he has also secu...
