10 Infuriatingly Bad Endings To Good Movies
Nothing can ruin an otherwise great night out at the movies like an ending that undoes all of the goodwill the film had built up with its viewers over the preceding 2+ hours. So what makes for a bad ending? Some of the movies on this list left us confused, some left us sad, some left us wanting more. But the common denominator is that each of these films made us want to throw something at the screen when the credits started rolling. Here are 10 infuriatingly bad endings to otherwise good movies.

Man of Steel

We knew going in that Zack Snyder's take on Superman was going to be a bit dark...

Q&A: Joseph Gordon-Levitt Discusses 'Don Jon,' Optimism, And Taking Risks

September 26th, 2013 11:00am EDT
Don Jon 1
Since breaking out in the late '90s in 10 Things I Hate About You, Joseph Gordon-Levitt has steadily climbed Hollywood’s ladder with an intelligent mixture of roles in indie films like Brick and big-budget movies like The Dark Knight Rises. Levitt wasn’t content just to be a well-rounded actor though. In 2005, he launched the successful online artistic collaborative HitRECord and most recently, he also set his sights on writing and directing a feature-length film.

Levitt's directing debut is Don Jon, a dramedy where he plays Jon, a beefy New Jersey lothario. Jon can bed a new woman every n...

Spotlight On The Cute And Quirky Zooey Deschanel

October 20th, 2011 4:00pm EDT
Zooey Deschanel
If you haven’t heard of Zooey Deschanel, you are most likely living under a rock. She’s the cute and quirky girl from Elf, 500 Days of Summer and the one of the only new fall shows that seem to be thriving, New Girl. We love her for a few different reasons. She is married to Death Cab for Cutie front man, Ben Gibbard (I’m sure they make the sweetest music together), she is not afraid to be a big dork (see New Girl) and her character in Failure to Launch (the only good thing about that movie).

The thirty one year old was born in Los Angeles into an entertainment family, hence her and her si...

kick ass
“Kick-Ass” burst into theaters in early 2010 to rave reviews from critics and fans alike. The movie, which is based on Mark Millar’s comic book, focuses on a group of superheroes. But unlike Superman, Batman and Spiderman, these crime fighters are all kids. The movie is heavy on the fighting and superhero escapades but also on the language the young actors use throughout the film.

Chloe Moretz, who plays Hit Girl, got plenty of attention with the especially colorful language her character uses in several key scenes. The 13-year-old Moretz, who had a surprisingly mature performance in 2009’...

As with every year there are dozens of great movies but there are even more really bad ones. 2009 will be marked by Quentin Tarantino and Sacha Baron Cohen comebacks along with a bevy of bad movies, highlighted by Megan Fox's performance in Jennifer's Body. There were plenty of good movies and we may have the most fun making fun of the bad and helpless ones, but let's take a look at the best movies of 2009.

Most blockbuster movies are filled with overrated stars (i.e. Will Smith and Tom Cruise) and are seemingly contrived, made only to make money. Thankfully this year there were not as ...

Are Film Remakes Worth The Risk?

October 8th, 2009 10:37am EDT
Fame
In these tough economic times, film studios are producing more and more remakes. Though some cite the financial insecurity of the viewing public, many simply argue that there is just no originality anymore, and why take a risk on a "new" idea when you can simply bring back what has since become a cult classic?

All films can be considered risks, however, especially when "date night" at the movies takes a middle class couple's expendable income. Not one of the top 10 films at the box office this summer was a remake. Perhaps that is because these new-old movies have versions sitting on Blo...

This weekend "500 Days of Summer" became my favorite movie of the season. The film's non-linear style of romantic storytelling works incredibly well. Jumping back and forth through various days in Tom and Summer's relationship is a fascinating way to get to know the couple.

Joseph Gordon-Levitt plays Tom with an awkward charm that other lovesick fools can identify with. Much like a typical heartbroken lover, Tom finds himself bogged down remembering the positive parts of his relationship but forgetting the trials and tribulations.

While the film is not a typical love story filled w...

It's interesting, on the surface, that Fox Searchlight has released two films within two weeks of each other -- "(500) Days of Summer" and, now, "Adam" -- with the similar theme of "boy meets girl." Again, perhaps, on the surface. In reality, these films could not be more different. While "(500) Days of Summer" tugs at the emotions that everyone has felt at some point, "Adam" shows us what it's like to observe a relationship where one party does not quite even understand human emotion.

Adam (played by a pretty fantastic Hugh Dancy) has Asperger's Syndrome. A condition that's a form of Au...
