Paul Rudd: 'A Male A** Shot Is The Cheapest & Best Laugh Ever'

September 15th, 2011 9:53am EDT
Paul Rudd
Paul Rudd finds male nudity in movies hilarious - except when it's his bare bottom on show.

He explained, "I'm a big fan of movie nudity. A male ass shot is the cheapest and best laugh ever. But it's mortifying to do. When I showed my butt in The 40-Year-Old Virgin, all I could think was, 'This is going to be up on all those big screens.' I was very self-conscious about doing it."

Rudd most recently starred in "Our Idiot Brother" about scruffy idealist Ned who wreaks havoc on the lives of his mother and three sisters, Miranda (Elizabeth Banks), Natalie (Zooey Deschanel), and Liz (Emily Mo...

Brianna Brown: Busy And Loving It

February 8th, 2011 9:10pm EST
Brianna Brown
Brianna Brown is good at keeping herself busy – sometimes in spite of herself.

The energetic actress, a Twin Cities native who landed in Hollywood over a decade ago, is currently enjoying the success of her most recent role, Dr. Lisa Niles on ABC’s ‘General Hospital.’ She took over the part early last year in what she calls a ‘Fatal Attraction’ storyline. Her arc piqued so much interest it helped the storyline to be named Soap Opera Digest’s best of 2010.

In a phone interview, the witty Brown fondly describes Lisa as “just really manipulative.” It’s a departure from her earlier roles...

'(500) Days Of Summer' & Other Films With Great Impromptu Music Scenes

500 Days of Summer
(500) Days of Summer was one of the best movies of the year. The Golden Globe nominated film will be released on DVD on December 22nd

, and for those who haven't seen it - we recommend you check it out.

We especially love the musical scene where Joseph Gordon-Levitt charms the audience with his dance moves to Hall & Oates "You Make My Dreams Come True." His character, Tom, falls head over heels in love with Zooey Deschanel's character, Summer, and what better way to express his love than in song? When he thinks about her he wants to sing and dance and everyone else is as happy as he is...

The Ten Greatest Movies Of The Decade

December 17th, 2009 9:30am EST
The Ten Greatest Movies Of The Decade
So far, we've given you lists of the Ten Greatest TV Shows, Songs, and Albums of the decade. Now it's time to turn our focus to the Silver Screen.

This decade, moviemaking became incredibly fractured. After the Indie Boom of the nineties there suddenly wasn't much of a difference between an independent/art film and the mainstream movies from blockbuster studios. Many of these studios were now attempting to make their own indies, blurring the lines and resulting in more failures than successes.

Of course, there were still plenty of good movies to go around. The following is a list ...

Tina Fey & Steve Carell To Hit The Big Screen In 'Date Night'

December 3rd, 2009 9:45am EST
Tina Fey
NBC's Thursday night comedy line-up is now home to movie stars. Steve Carell has a hit every summer between seasons of The Office and Tina Fey had Baby Mama and Mean Girls. Now the two star in Date Night together for director Shawn Levy.

"It is a Thursday night wet dream, Date Night," Levy said.

This isn't just a vanity piece either. The film will feature both comedians' unique voices, and the humor you're familiar with from their past work. "Any great comedic star does punch up on the script and does daily punch up on the script via improvisation. So, with Tina and Steve, both of who...

August Can Be A Viable Movie Month Despite Its Reputation

August 12th, 2009 5:01pm EDT
The Bourne Ultimatum
While Hollywood has staked out late May, June and July as prime summer movie territory, August has gotten lost in the shuffle. August isn't as big of a dump month as September or January, but you usually don't find studios queuing up to put their surefire tent pole smashes there.

With summer winding down, younger audiences are turning their attentions back to school, families are getting in one final vacation, and cooler weather in some regions are all valid reasons why studios feel like box office for their mega-budgeted pictures would be affected by an August release.

Which leaves...

Judd Apatow: His Career And Latest 'Funny People'

July 30th, 2009 10:38am EDT
Judd Apatow
This Friday marks the theatrical release of "Funny People," the Judd Apatow dramedy starring Adam Sandler as a terminally ill stand-up comedian. As the buzz around this film has grown, fans and critics alike have wondered if Apatow, who never met a penis joke he didn't like, was making a huge mistake by veering into "serious" territory. Pretty odd, considering that one of Apatow's most loved and respected works was the TV series, "Freaks and Geeks," a show that beautifully walked the line between hilarity and heartbreaking realism.

Although it may seem like he came from out of nowhere to...

Blockbusters, Comedies & Animated Films To Benefit From New Oscar Rule

The Hangover
In a move that had everybody checking their calendars to make sure it wasn't still April 1, The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences just announced that this year there will be TEN Best Picture nominees instead of the five-film shortlist that's existed since 1944.

So what does this mean exactly? That is, apart from the additional five minutes of clips at the Oscar show and the inevitable surprise of a bleary-eyed Oscar Nominee presenter who realizes they aren't finished after reading the name of the fifth film off the TelePrompTer? Plenty.

The Animation Rule No Longer Applies...

Caddyshack isn't that good, and it's not very funny. If you're 9 out of 10 red blooded American men, that last sentence just infuriated you like I just made slanderous remarks about your grandmother. I've never met your grandmother, but I have seen Caddyshack - and it kind of sucks. My editors were quick to advise me that although they were giving me the go-ahead on this piece, they would have to include a bigger than usual disclaimer saying that the opinions expressed are solely that of Matthew J. Swanson. I'll tell you that right now, too: it is just my opinion, but it happens to be t...

Because some celebrities can at times be major fashion disasters, and it just seemed fitting to belt out these original lyrics in their honor:

"My junks! My junks! My messy summer frumps! My boring summer dress, no guy is gonna look. My pointless grayish suit, no woman's gonna drool. My tacky rolled up jeans. I look like a hot mess. My messy summer frumps! My messy summer frumps! In the back and in the...

Worst Dates In Movies

First dates are always awkward. Between not knowing what to say, fumbling with the check when it arrives at the table, or wondering whether there will be a kiss at the end of the night, these situations are ones people can't wait to overcome. Sometimes first dates can be disastrous from the start, and you hope to God you never see the other person again, that is if you don't die of utter embarrassment right there on the spot.

Hollywood loves to over emphasize situations and showcase things that probably would never happen in real life; at least you hope they'll never happen to you! He...

There is one television genre that has been noticeably underrepresented: realistic, coming of age programs.
