300 Rise of an Empire
During its theatrical release in January, Starpulse called "300: Rise of an Empire" visually "striking" with awe-inspiring special effects.

The film centers on Greek general Themistocles (Sullivan Stapleton), who attempts to unite all of Greece by leading the charge against the massive invading Persian forces led by mortal-turned-god Xerxes (Rodrigo Santoro), and Artemisia (Eva Green), vengeful commander of the Persian navy.

Lena Headey ("Game of Thrones") also stars.

Need for Speed was the best new film of the weekend, taking $17 million at the box office against a relatively cheap $66 million budget. Tyler Perry’s The Single Moms Club took $8 million.

Crowd-funded Veronica Mars made...

'300: Rise Of An Empire' Shows Us Why It's Not A Good Idea To Pi
'300: Rise Of an Empire' is shot in the same breathtaking visual style of the blockbuster '300' which starred Gerard Butler a few years back. This film, however, is not a sequel. In fact, it runs parallel to the first one, so you don't need to have seen the first movie to follow this film.

'300: Rise of an Empire' takes place long, long ago, in a far off land - which I'm sure you've heard of, Greece, a place big on democracy and philosophy. Unfortunately, if Persia has their way, there won't be much reading or philosophizing going on.

After some back story, we are introduced to Athenia...
