Dramatic wunderkind Director Sidney Lumet, who sadly died on Saturday April 9, 2011 at the age of 86 after suffering from lymphoma, was a classic old school filmmaker. Legendary director Sidney Lumet has died at the age of 86.

The critically-acclaimed filmmaker passed away on Saturday morning at his New York home after a battle with lymphoma.

Born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, to actor/director Baruch Lumet and dancer Eugenia, he began his career as a child actor, appearing in a number of Broadway plays, including 1935's Dead End and The Eternal Road.

He made his movie debut at the age of 11, in Yiddish short film Papirossen, but halted his acting dreams to serve in the U.S. Army during World War II.

Two-Time Oscar Nominee Jack Warden Passes At 85

Veteran actor Jack Warden has died in New York. He was 85.

The Emmy-winning Heaven Can Wait star, who was twice nominated for an Academy Award, was born John H Lebzelter in September, 1920. He was raised in Louisville, Kentucky, where he was expelled from Du Pont Manuel High School for fighting and decided to put his violent streak to good use in the boxing ring.
