Whodunits are usually ensemble-based films in which a murderer is rooted out among a group of people gathered at a specific location for a set amount of time. Sometimes the hero is a detective brought in to pick through the rogue gallery of suspects; other times, it is a member of the group who takes it upon his or herself to solve the crime. Agatha Christie tales have set the standard for the type.
