Crime Thriller
A type of crime film that offers a suspenseful account of a successful or failed crime or crimes. Unlike police procedurals, crime thrillers focus on a criminal/criminals rather than a policeman. Crime thrillers usually emphasize action over psychological aspects - murders, robberies, chases, shootouts and double-crosses are central ingredients. Reservoir Dogs, The Asphalt Jungle, The Getaway and The Killing are prime examples.
