Born in the UK in 1987, Olly Moss has quickly become "one of the most in demand and influential pop culture artists in the world today" (Slashfilm). "Silhouettes from Popular Culture" is his eagerly-awaited first book, collecting the striking and playful work of the influential British artist [Titan Books, October, 2012 $16.95].

Depicting popular cult characters from films, television, comics and video games in beautifully crafted Victorian-style silhouette portraits, "Silhouettes from Popular Culture" collects the sought-after Paper Cuts series exhibited at the sold-out solo show at famous pop-culture Gallery 1988. The book has a Foreword written by Duncan Jones (director of Source Code and Moon) and is published in a gorgeous hardback gift volume, luxuriously bound in gilt-stamped full cloth.

Olly Moss writes: "I always thought that making pop-culture infused silhouettes would be a devious way of sneaking girlfriend safe nerd art onto the walls of my own home but drawing them proved addictive. If I did Indy, I needed to do Han and Deckard. If I drew Batman, I needed to include the whole cast of Saved by the Bell. Obviously. The final count came in at 300 the meat of which is in this book. I've picked my personal favorites. I wonder if you're geeky enough to recognize them all."

Olly Moss' clients have included Nike, Apple, Lucasfilm, Sony Entertainment, Paramount, The New York Times and Time Magazine. His projects vary from posters for classic and contemporary films (including Star Wars, The Avengers and The Dark Knight Rises), to art for best-selling games such as Resistance 3, and designs for Levi's and Urban Outfitters.
