Leland Sundries' new EP, The Foundry, is out 2/21/12. The band is the brain child of Nick Loss-Eaton who played guitar, banjo, harmonium, harmonica, and vocals on the EP. Their last record received praise from The New York Times, who declared “...dedicated to storytelling in a way that recalls Woody Guthrie and his Folkways brethren. [Their] scrappy Americana will get you longing for empty two-lane highways and kudzu-encased back porches.”
Great collection of americana, folk and ragtime tunes...sounds like Nick Cave fronting Bonnie Prince Billy's band.
Brooklyn indie-folk band Leland Sundries’ sophomore record ‘The Foundry EP’ will be released on Feb 21, 2012 on L’Echiquier Records. The EP was recorded Greenpoint, Brooklyn in an old creamery building with leader Nick Loss-Eaton playing guitar, banjo, harmonium, harmonica, and vocals.
Leland Sundries debut release The Apothecary EP received praise from The New York Times, who declared “Leland Sundries, a band from New York led by Nick Loss-Eaton, is dedicated to storytelling in a way that recalls Woody Guthrie and his Folkways brethren. [Their] scrappy Americana will get you longing for empty two-lane highways and kudzu-encased back porches.”
A spring tour is confirmed and the band will be releasing several videos to accompany the album.
