In a world gone mad, who’s to say who’s crazy? Thought-provoking, outrageously funny and completely original, IBID – from the producers of the Academy Award®-nominated Frozen River -- examines this classic question like no other film before it. When an unlikely duo escapes from the Trinity Psychiatric Center, the pair hits the road to produce a work of cinematic genius, and later, to fulfill the urgings of God himself. A madcap surrealist comedy certain to appeal to fans of indie cinema and films such as Vanishing Point, One Flew Over the Cuckoo’s Nest and Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas, IBID -- makes its DVD debut on June 9 only online from Indiepix.

Like Laurel and Hardy, Jake and Elwood, or Raoul Duke and Dr. Gonzo before them, Lionel (Christian Campbell, Reefer Madness: The Movie Musical) and Tin (writer/director Russell Friedenberg) are on a grand, mystical journey into the depths of the American psyche. After God appears to them as an aged cowboy named Don, and enlists them to inscribe the “Last Commandments” – an addendum to the original 10 – the pair decides they must escape from Trinity, an “alternative” institution for the wayward. After busting out and hitting the road to parts unknown, they agree that their joint mission is to both produce a film of staggering genius and save a doomed society plunging towards ultimate destruction. However, plagued by their own madness, and the evil machinations of another escapee, Lionel and Tin begin to uncover their own dark past which might ultimately lead to their undoing, to the fulfillment of their great mission or at the very least, a serious re-write. Ultimately, IBID is a classic road movie with a twist: it’s a play within a film and you don't know where the acting ends and the reality begins. And, as you will discover, neither do many of the film’s characters!

This acclaimed tribute to independent filmmaking made its world premiere at the 2008 SXSW Film Festival, and was also an official selection of the 2008 Munich International Film Festival (where it was nominated for the Cinevision Award), the 2009 Seattle Truly Independent Film Festival and 2009 Indy Memphis Film Festival. IBID was written and directed by Russell Friedenberg (writer of Trudell, nominated for Grand Jury Prize at Â’05 Sundance Film Festival), making his feature-length directorial debut and produced by Heather Rae, acknowledged as Producer of the Year at the 2008 Independent Spirit Awards for Frozen River and Ibid; Rae also appears in the film as Billy Jo.

DVD Extras: Theatrical and teaser trailers; Interviews with Director Russell Friedenberg and Lead Actor Christian Campbell; Deleted Scenes; and Behind-the-Scenes Featurettes.
