Jack Gold Biography
Born: June 28, 1930
After a decades' worth of experience in British television, director Jack Gold made his feature-film debut with the critically acclaimed The_Bofors_Gun (1968). Gold's later films have been a curious lot, none curiouser than the revisionist Robinson Crusoe flick Man_Friday (1976). Occasionally returning to TV, Gold has directed such praiseworthy efforts as Catholics (1973), The_Naked_Civil_Servant (1975) and the Ricky_Schroder version of Little_Lord_Fauntleroy (1980). More recently, Jack Gold has busied himself with made-for-cable features along the lines of Sakharov (1989). Hal Erickson, Rovi
