Actor James Gandolfini has died after reportedly suffering a massive heart attack while on a trip to Italy, according to reports. He was just 51.

The actor was in the country for a scheduled appearance with director Gabriele Muccino at the Taormina Film Festival in Sicily this weekend.

“Everyone is in tears,” a source close told the New York Daily News.

Gandolfini was best known for playing mob boss Tony Soprano on hit HBO series The Sopranos. He won three Emmy awards during the show's six season run between 1999 and 2007.
