Professional skateboarder Anthony Frank "Tony" Hawk was born on May
12, 1968, in Carlsbad, California, and is considered to be the most triumphant
and prominent pioneers in vertical skateboarding. With his nickname the "Birdman,"
Tony has been a professional skateboarder since he was 15, and he is the first
person in skateboarding history to pull off a 900. He has won six gold medals
for skateboarding in the ESPN X-Games and is considered to be the best Pro in
skateboarding history, entering 103 contests, winning 73 of them and placing second
in 19. In 2000, he published his autobiography "Hawk: Occupation Skateboarder,"
and he has a video game series named after him. Besides skateboarding, he also
has appeared in the films "The New Guy,"
"Haggard: The Movie" and "The
Lords Of Dogtown," and has his own radio show on Sirius Satellite radio
channel 28 Faction called "Tony Hawk's Demolition Radio." Tony has been
married three times, and he has three sons Spencer, Keegen and Riley.
