Barry Bonds Sentenced To 30 Days Of House Arrest

Fallen baseball star Barry Bonds has been sentenced to serve 30 days of house arrest for lying to a grand jury about his alleged steroid use back in 2003.

The retired San Francisco Giants star was indicted in 2007 on a number of charges for allegedly lying to a grand jury during the government's investigation of drug company BALCO, testifying that he never knowingly took any illegal steroids.

Bonds was convicted of obstruction of justice in April and on Friday California Judge Susan Illston ordered the sports star to complete 250 hours of community service, pay a $4,000 fine, serve two-ye...

Britney Spears memorabilia has never been more in demand, according to auction website eBay - the troubled pop star sold more than 34,000 related items online in 2007. That compares with 27,377 items associated with Paris Hilton.

Baseball superstar Barry Bonds faces a maximum of 30 years in prison after he was indicted on charges of perjury and obstruction of justice on Thursday.

The 43-year-old, who earlier this year broke baseball's home-run record, is accused of lying under oath to a federal grand jury investigation into steroid use among professional athletes.

The indictment reads: "During the criminal investigation, evidence was obtained including positive tests for the presence of anabolic steroids and other performance-enhancing substances for Bonds and other athletes."
