Born in Seattle and raised in Newport Beach, California, Constance Zimmer has steadily built a successful career as a working actress. Since her move to Los Angeles several years ago, she has acted consistently in commercials, plays, television and independent films.
Zimmer began her acting career in high school productions. Following high school, she was accepted to the prestigious American Academy of Dramatic Arts in Los Angeles. After finishing there, she continued to study with renowned teachers such as Stella Adler and Arthur Mendoza, which quickly led to acting in plays. Between acting projects, Zimmer earned a living as a professional fundraiser for charitable foundations such as AIDS Project Los Angeles, Tuesday's Child and The American Cinematheque.
After securing some national commercials (her first for Duracell was her most memorable), she devoted herself full-time to her acting career. Zimmer made her television debut in the comedy series Ellen, and earned kudos (a Best Actress Dramalogue Award) in the Los Angeles play, "Catholic School Girls." More television roles followed, with guest appearances on Seinfeld, King of Queens, The X- Files, Philly, Providence and Gideon's Crossing. She also had recurring roles on "The Wayans Brothers," Hyperion Bay, "The Trouble with Normal" and "The Fighting Fitzgeralds." Feature film credits include the independent films Warm Blooded Killers, Senseless, Home Room and "Spin Cycle."
The NBC comedy Good Morning Miami marked the actress' first series regular role, portraying Penny, the witty and burned-out office assistant to Mark Feuerstein's character, Jake Silver. Zimmer's deadpan delivery of zingers earned acclaim across the board.
Zimmer recently appeared in the Hallmark Channel movie, "Mystery Woman," opposite Kellie Martin and Robert Wagner. She will next reprise her role as the lead character in the play "Mousy Brown," at the renowned Blank Theater Company. Having debuted at the 11th Annual Young Playwrights Festival in Los Angeles, the play returns at the end of September.
When not acting, Zimmer enjoys daily hikes in the Los Angeles canyons, spending time with friends and taking care of her three pets.
