Last night the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences announced the winners of the 58th Annual Emmy Awards. The Fox drama 24 was named Outstanding Drama Series for the first time after five nominations in the category, and in its first season, the NBC series The Office, a U.S. adaptation of the hit British series of the same name, was named Outstanding Comedy Series. Inspired by a true story, Antonio Banderas stars as internationally acclaimed ballroom dancer, Pierre Dulaine, in the family drama Take The Lead. The film revolves around a professional dancer who volunteers to teach in the New York City public school system. But when his classic methods clash with his students' hip hop instincts, he teams up with them to create a new style of dance and becomes their mentor in the process.

“The Water Is Wide,” a new "Hallmark Hall of Fame" presentation starring Alfre Woodard, Frank Langella and Jeff Hephner will be broadcast Sunday, Jan. 29, on CBS. The drama, spanning 1969 to 1970, is based on the memoir of the same name by New York Times best-selling author Pat Conroy (The Prince of Tides).

'Desperate Housewives' actor Page Kennedy has been fired - amid rumours he flashed other cast members. The 28-year-old actor, who played mysterious Caleb in the second season hit show, was fired for "improper conduct" last week after "thorough investigation by the studio".
