May 31st, 2012 10:00am EDT
Anna Paquin
Vampire and werewolf fans are eager to sink their teeth into new episodes of "True Blood," which kicks off its fifth season on Sunday, June 10.

At the end of season four, Sookie (Anna Paquin) defeated Marnie, but her showdown with Debbie may have had fatal consequences for Tara. Meanwhile, the Bon Temps crew were approaching a new crisis with the return of Russell Edgington, their familiar friend who ended up in a what appears to be an un-permanent cement grave.

Cast members attended the season five premiere in Hollywood on Wednesday, and Paquin showed off her growing baby bump. She a...

First Look: HBO Releases New Explosive 'True Blood' Season 5 Trailer

May 14th, 2012 11:09am EDT
True Blood
Get ready for a bloody good time this summer as the season premiere of HBO's True Blood kicks off June 10. Beware, the new trailer seems to have a spoiler or two in it, so if you're one of those "I don't want to know" people, you've been warned.

Judging from this new trailer, it looks like the underground Vampire Authority is pissed as human-vampire relations have broken down. We also get a glimpse of Chris Meloni in action and as usual Sookie (Anna Paquin) seems to be in the thick of it all.

Watch the trailer.

'True Blood' Season 4 Premiere Photos

Anna Paquin & Stephen Moyer
Anticipation has been building for the new season of "True Blood," and all the stars came out for the premiere in Hollywood yesterday. Stephen Moyer looked dapper in gray while his wife Anna Paquin was sexy in a black mini dress emebellished with purple sequins.

Swedish actor Alexander Skarsgard, who plays vampire Eric Northman, recently talked about filming love scenes with Paquin, who plays Sookie Stackhouse.

He told GQ magazine, "It's really clear to Steve [Moyer] and to everybody else what the deal is - which is that Anna is like a sister to me... Those love scenes take quite a bit of...

June 15th, 2011 11:00am EDT
True Blood
The stars of "True Blood" have filmed a series of comedy sketches aimed at fans suffering "withdrawal symptoms" while the hit vampire TV show is off-air.

Anna Paquin, Stephen Moyer, Ryan Kwanten and Joe Manganiello are among the actors who have recorded mock public service announcements (PSAs) for "addicted" devotees ahead of the season four launch later this summer.

Moyer is seen sympathetically telling fans, "True Blood addiction is no laughing matter," while Paquin adds in a separate film, "Help has finally arrived."

Kwanten jokes, "If you tell your girlfriend you don't mind that she'...

15 'True Blood' Spoilers: Plus, Why Powerful Vampire Eric is 'Completely Lost'

March 7th, 2011 10:07am EST
Alexander Skarsgard | Photo Credits: Doug Hyun/HBO
Trying to get True Blood executive producer Alan Ball and the cast of the HBO series to give away anything about the upcoming fourth season is not easy. Oh, but how they love to tease! During Saturday's PaleyFest panel, we heard all about fairies, demon babies, amnesia (poor Eric!) and why — brace yourselves — Sookie and Bill are doomed for the time being.

Bill's not getting back into Sookie's, er, good graces any time soon. It's going to take a long while for her to get past Eric's...

True Blood Recap - 'Fresh Blood'

August 31st, 2010 12:23pm EDT
True Blood
So in True Blood Eric's plan for Sookie and Russell comes to fruition, and it's a little anti-climatic but it works too. The little hints about Sookie's abilities and what her blood means as a fairy did come full circle here. And while it's hard to say if Eric sacrificing himself means he's forgiven for locking her in a dungeon and draining her, it does head in the right direction. Plus, it seems like the slow death of the Sookie/Bill relationship might finally come about. Yay! (Sorry, shipper fans).

Bill comes looking for Sookie and gets a faceful of silver pepper spray from Pam for the e...

True Blood Recap - 'I Smell A Rat'

August 23rd, 2010 12:06pm EDT
True_Blood
There's something very depressing about watching one of the best characters on True Blood spend an entire episode preparing for his death. Now obviously Eric Northman is going nowhere, but there was a genuine sadness to seeing him make preparations anyway. Meanwhile everyone's going crazy as always and no one knows what Russell is going to do next. And humans hate vampires more than ever again. Good thing the weres are still hidden in this world, or they'd have to deal with this too. Oh! And Sookie Stackhouse is a fairy.

That's right, they start the episode with her revealing the fact she'...

True Blood Recap - 'Night On The Sun'

August 10th, 2010 8:26pm EDT
True Blood Recap
True Blood is great in a lot of ways, but sometimes you wonder if it'll ever give the audience a chance to breath. Even when the cast moves back to the currently calm world of Bon Temps, it doesn't really let up for more than a few moments. Having an adrenaline rush for an entire hour is intense! Last week the episode ended with Sookie screaming her head off at Bill, and Anna Paquin has some major pipes on her, because every scream she does is just earsplitting. Eventually she shoos everyone out of the room and she and Bill break up for real this time. Of course everyone knows it won't actu...

'True Blood' Recap - 'I Got A Right To Sing The Blues'

True Blood
Sookie Stackhouse is one piece of work. No matter how much information she receives telling her that her vampire lover Bill is not good for her - even from his own mouth - she refuses to listen to it. It's a single minded obsessive love that can get grating, but it's difficult not to respect her for at least trying to be proactive about it. Last episode Bill led King Russell and his people right to Sookie, and now she's in his hands. Bill tries to save her and manages to stake one of Russell's guards, but he's no match for the ancient vampire and gets his butt handed to him. Russell tells L...

'True Blood' Recap - Beautifully Broken

June 21st, 2010 12:57pm EDT
True Blood
True Blood, what did we ever do without you in our life? It's so good to have the show back, and they're wasting no time before blowing the audience's collective mind. Previously on the show, Bill was kidnapped, Sookie was freaking out, Tara was committing suicide because Eggs is dead, Jason was guilty because he killed Eggs, Eric was in trouble because of the illicit V selling thanks to Sophie-Anne, and Jessica had killed a man. Sucks to be basically everyone on this show! The last thing we saw was Bill taking on a wolfpack.

The episode starts right up there, with Bill covered in blood an...

'True Blood' Recap - 'Bad Blood'

June 15th, 2010 9:25am EDT
True Blood
HBO has provided some incredible television for their hard working (and high paying) customers, but it's rare that a show catches fire the way True Blood has. This show achieved critical acclaim from the beginning, with people promising that Alan Ball has created more than just 'another vampire show,' and each season grew in popularity and viewership. Season three has premiered to high numbers, and with the momentum it has, it has a real chance of becoming the best rated show HBO has ever had. Does it deserve this? Hell yes. The marketing is brilliant but it does not lie; True Blood is back...

The model was a perfect fit for the spread; in her accompanying Playboy 'data sheet' she lists her ambition as, "Win a walk-on role on 'True Blood.'"

SAG Awards Fashion: Crimson Gowns, Bare Shoulders & More (Photos)

SAG Awards Fashion
One-shouldered dresses and vibrant crimson gowns dominated the red carpet at the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) Awards this weekend. Mariah Carey, "Mad Men" star Christina Hendricks, and other ladies captivated in red, while celebrities like "30 Rock's" Jane Krakowski and French actress Marion Cotillard were one of the many who opted for the single shoulder look.

Sandra Bullock was named Best Actress for her performance in The Blind Side. She won the same award at last week's Golden Globes. Mo'nique took home Best Supporting Actress for Precious, while Tina Fey and Julianna Margulies claimed...

Golden Globes Fashion 2010 - The Ladies

Golden Globes Fashion 2010
Many of the ladies sizzled on the red carpet at last night's Golden Globe Awards in Beverly Hills, Calif. Purple was a major pick of the evening, as Sandra Bullock, Fergie, Heidi Klum and Jane Krakowski demonstrated.

As usual black was a very popular color, and stars like Jennifer Aniston, Mariah Carey, Halle Berry, Heather Graham, Vera Farmiga and Penelope Cruz looked fab.

There wasn't a lot of bad fashion, although Tina Fey's billowing skirt was a bit too much, and Rita Wilson's flower pattern dress was simply too floral.

What did you think of last night's red carpet fashion? Who...

True Blood
Here it is, the highly anticipated finale of "True Blood" season two. It has been a crazy season, and the show has managed to reach new heights with its excellent stories about Godric, the Fellowship of the Sun, the sweet love with Jessica and Hoyt, and Maryann's descent into madness with the town coming along. It is really time for that psycho maenad to be moving on, don't you think? Just like last season, it is time for surprising alliances to be made and a cliffhanger to keep us waiting for next season. Let's get started!

'True Blood' Recap: Evan Rachel Wood Disappoints, People Act Stupid

August 31st, 2009 11:44am EDT
True Blood
"True Blood" is a pretty remarkable show in that the second season eclipsed the first one in terms of writing and excellent acting, which was a big deal since the first season was critically acclaimed and beloved already. There are a lot of fans who say that they liked the premiere season, but they've started to love it this season. Every episode has been strong and interesting and weird, so it stands to reason that one episode eventually had to suck. Just so that "True Blood" didn't get too arrogant. This was that episode. It didn't suck so much as ... it was kind of treading water getting...

'True Blood' Recap: Jason To The Rescue, Sookie's New Power & More

"True Blood" I have a bone to pick with you. Now I love you very much, especially when you go crazy on me, but the most recent episode was only 45 minutes long. That is at least 10 minutes less than what we're used to, and the shortness was definitely felt. There are only two episodes left, and I expect them to be excruciatingly long to make up for it, got it?

The show opens with Sookie dreaming about Eric again, and while it does establish her softening toward him, they're becoming slightly annoying. DreamEric is most definitely not Eric, and hopefully Sookie needs to de-Twilight her th...

Recap: 'True Blood' Final Scene Is The Most Emotional To Date

Why do you have to hurt us so, "True Blood?" The more we love you, the more you hurt us. Sniff. A lot of things are shifting on this show now, as Bon Temps officially goes to hell and Dallas is wrapped up with a lot of grief and pain on the horizon. Eric proves his humanity is still intact, which is not good news for Bill at all, and Godric meets the sun. Damnit.

The show opens a few minutes before the bomb goes off, and then Bill goes flying inside to see how his beloved Sookie is. There is blood and guts everywhere, proving that more than a few vampires and humans died, including the c...

'True Blood' Makes An Impression At Comic-Con

July 29th, 2009 11:53am EDT
True Blood
When "True Blood" first premiered on HBO last year, it already had quite an eager and excited audience. Perhaps it was the viral ads that HBO kept running, or the vampire-mania that was beginning to get attention again, but at least some of it had to do with its strong, vocal presence at the San Diego Comic Con. Thousands of people saw huge posters all over the con advertising the show and got a few first looks, so this year at a comic con it was like the cast was coming home to an inbuilt fanbase. Almost every major actor on the show appeared at the panel, and Ballroom 20, one of the large...

Movie Remakes & Recastings We Hope To Never See

June 8th, 2009 9:40am EDT
Mary Poppins
In the wake of the current brain-draining drive to remake just about everything Hollywood has ever had to offer, there are some films that are so sacred they should never be touched. This is a blatant retort to the deluge of watered down franchises, remakes, medium changes, etc. It ranges in levels of snark from low to apocalyptic strength.

My frustration with this extremely long trend came to a fever pitch after watching the Obsessed trailer. Anyone even peripherally familiar with Fatal Attraction could easily catch the obvious, racially spurred recasting of a classic film.

Best TV Couples That Aren't Together - But Should Be

February 13th, 2009 9:00am EST
House
There are a few unifying themes that you can find in almost any television show: drama, comedy, and yes, even a touch of romance. Comedies have plenty of drama (Hello Pam/Jim drama in The Office) and drama can have moments of comedy (everything Hurley says on Lost), but they all tend to have a focus on relationships. Even Law & Order, a cut and dry procedural, has a pairing here and there.

Yet there's a rule for shows that if a couple has great chemistry and sexual tension, don't let them get them together! It'll ruin the show! This has been the case a few times, but here are a few no...
