18 Dark And Mysterious Melisandre Quotes From 'Game Of Thrones'
There have been a lot of cruel deaths on HBO's 'Game of Thrones' but arguably none have been more painful to watch than those who have died by the flames of the Red Priestess, Melisandre of Asshai. Melisandre, portrayed by actress Carice Van Houten, believes that Stannis Baratheon is a legendary hero reborn and she will stop at nothing to see that he claims the Iron Throne. Even if she has to burn every last person with King's blood to do it.

Here are 18 of Melisandre's best quotes to get your blood boiling as you wait for 'Game of Thrones' Season 6 premiere on April 24.

'Game Of Thrones' Adds New Red Priestess To The Mix For Season S
'Game of Thrones' fans are scratching their heads this week at the news reported Thursday that the HBO show has cast Melanie Liburd as a Red Priestess for Season 6.

The news, which was first reported by Deadline, is noteworthy because the Emmy-award winning show already has a character many refer to as the Red Priestess in Carice van Houten's Melisandre. Furthermore, many hardcore fans expected Melisandre to play a large role in what may happen in the coming season if those rumors about Jon Snow turn out to be true.

While there's a small possibility that Melisandre has been recast, a mor...

Carice van Houten
Game of Thrones star Carice van Houten, who plays Lady Melisandre aka "the red woman" on the show, is set to hit the big screen as legendary Swedish actress Greta Garbo in an upcoming biopic.

The story will cover the silent film star's early life of poverty through her rise to fame.

"I was raised with silent films," Carice tells Screendaily.com. "I have always maintained an endless fascination for that era. Greta Garbo has gotten to me more than any other movie star and never let me go. I am strongly drawn to her story, her art, her loneliness and her beautiful complex structure."

Slideshow: The Beautiful Women Of 'Game Of Thrones'

3/27/2013 6:58pm EDT
Rose Leslie, Natalie Dormer and Sophie Turner
The third season of Game of Thrones is less than a week away (we've seen the first four episodes already and they are awesome!) and what better way to celebrate than with a slideshow of the beautiful women of Westeros (and Essos)?

The show's two most powerful women, Daenerys Targaryen and Cersei Lannister, played by Emilia Clarke and Lena Headey, respectively, are both blondes, but in reality sport dark 'dos. They may be hot on TV, but we think they're even sexier off screen. In fact, they all clean up well.

Our favorites? Oona Chaplin, who plays Robb Stark's (Richard Madden) wife Talisa ...

'Game of Thrones' Season 2 Premiere Event: The 'Ultimate Fan Experience' In Colorado

A 'Game of Throne' fan in costumes.
On March 27th, 2012, Colorado fans of the epic HBO series “Game of Thrones” were treated to an exclusive, limited engagement: The “Ultimate Fan Experience.” This event included a sneak-peek screening of the season 2 premiere, “The North Remembers,” which will air on April 1st, 2012, at 9pm E.T. on HBO.

I was privileged to be in attendance, and I have to say that HBO really knows how to throw a preview party for the Mile High City! This event was the one and only early preview made available to fans, and the invitation list was capped at 100 (plus one guest) for Colorado residents who respo...

Review: 'Black Death' 'Two Jews On Film' Feel The Horror Of The Plague (Video)

3/1/2011 11:08am EST
Black Death
'Black Death' directed by Christopher Smith (Severance) takes place in Europe...The year is 1348...And things aren't going so great. The Bubonic Plague has broken out and threatens to basically decimate everyone in its path. Fear and superstition is at an all time high. No one has figured out that the Plague comes from a rat bite.

The Church is starting to lose its grip on the people which of course makes the holy ones very unhappy. Plus, there are rumors of a village, hidden in a marshland, that is untouched by the Plague. That can mean only one thing...The villagers have to be in ca...
