'The Office' Recap: 'Mrs. California'

Perhaps there are signs of life in ‘The Office’ after all. After the pre-Thanksgiving episode only delivered a few mild chuckles, ‘Mrs. California’ has several hilarious moments, as well as several awkward scenes that are the best since Steve Carell’s departure.

The premise is simple. While Jim is chatting with Andy in his office, a panicked Robert runs in and instructs Andy – through the window glass – that his wife will be coming in shortly and that he should, under no circumstances, give her a job at Dunder Mifflin.

Are you ready to tawk? Fran Drescher is, and she’s excited about it. She’s rolling out ‘The Fran Drescher Show,’ a one-hour entertainment show developed by FOX Television Stations and Debmar-Mercury, this week.

The talker, debuting Nov. 26, the day after Thanksgiving, will receive a three-week trial run on six FOX-owned stations in New York (WNYW), Los Angeles (KTTV), Philadelphia (WTXF), Phoenix (KSAZ), Minneapolis (KMSP) and Orlando (WOFL). If all goes well, the show will be back full-time in national syndication in Fall 2011.

Maura Tierney's TV Comeback Show Axed

Actress Maura Tierney's legal drama The Whole Truth, her first full-time job since battling cancer, has been cancelled.

The former E.R. star, who was diagnosed with breast cancer last year, signed up to play prosecutor Kathryn Peale in the series, which debuted in September.

However, the project will be short-lived - executives at TV network ABC have decided to axe it after low ratings.

In a post on Twitter.com, co-executive producer KristieAnne Reed writes, "ABC gave us the word. We will only make 13 episodes of The Whole Truth."

Former E.R. star Maura Tierney has spoken of the horror she felt on the day she was diagnosed with breast cancer.

The beloved actress, who had to pull out of hit TV show Parenthood to battle the disease last year, admits she was crippled with fear when she found a lump in her breast - and instinctively knew the news would not be good.

Actress Maura Tierney is returning to the small screen after finishing treatment for breast cancer.

The former ER star was forced to walk away from TV drama Rescue Me after she was diagnosed with the disease last year. But, now she's putting her cancer battle behind her as she gets back to work on the show as Denis Leary's love interest.

Her rep tells TVGuide.com, "(Tierney) has finished treatment and is doing very well and is happy to move forward with the next phase of her life."

The actress has already filmed scenes for the program, which will air next year.
