I am so very sorry for your loss Uncle Verdine.
I love you <3
My Dearest Facebook Family, Friends and Fans.
My brother, hero and best friend Maurice White passed away peacefully last night in his sleep.
While the world has lost another great musician, visionary and legend, our family asks that our privacy is respected as we start what will be a very difficult life changing transition in our lives.
Thank you all for your prayers and well wishes.
Much Love to everyone!!

I appreciate all the shows/movies I book. No matter how small, but I can't tell you how sick I am of playing the white girls best friend, like my character doesn't have a family or a home or something. We're just there to show the audience that the white girl is pro diversity. or even me being a lead character in a movie.. And behind scenes, different magazines and websites only take interest in interviewing the white girl of the show. we're either too black or not black enough to play your "hood rat, or the black angry woman, the thug, etc...Why can't we have background music with some rock in it? Why does it have to be r&b or rap music when we enter a scene? Not jaded nor bitter, not giving up either, But it is frustrating and hurtful especially for young actors of color and being a female on top of that...to learn our lines, be off book ,gas money, and time just to get to our auditions knowing that u guys are going to go with the obvious race which is Caucasian or picking the same black actor that u have seen on everything. We need new faces of color as well. I don't want to JUST be on a black show on a black channel..our work ethics and our craft should be on all networks. It doesn't have to be a "black show" TVONE, BET, have paved the way and still are paving the way but we are not going to be limited. YES. We came along way from just playing the maid or like Dorothy dandridge for example, had to go through the back door of her OWN show and pee in a Dixie cup because they wouldn't let her use the bathroom....we do have woman and men of color that have their own shows on strong networks. Never going to deny that or not appreciate that, But compare those FEW shows to millions of other and find the difference. I blame writers, producers, and casting directors. "It has nothing to do with race" they say. "Your time will come" they say. I do follow the zoey Saldana's, Keri washingtons, viola Davis's, the lupitas because they waited for ever to get their shine, but there still needs to be OPPORTUNITY. Not to just audition, cause it looks good for sag, but an open door to be booked and on set to open other doors.if the amazing Leonardo dicaprio has yet to win an Oscar on his amazing work... What makes u think that they care about the amazing work that our people do? racism still exists, it's just hidden better. Sending hate to the critics and the people in this entertainment industry will not help. But we can try to change their view on things. If we have more diverse shows, u will get a more diverse audience...which equals more views.. Which equals more money.... Which will finally equal more respect.
