36 Celebs That Are Out And Proud

July 9th, 2014 8:00am EDT
36 Celebs That Are Out And Proud
For so many years, celebrities had to hide their sexuality. Afraid of not getting work or keeping the jobs they already had, so many men and women of music, television and movies lived closeted and non-authentic lives. Today, these talented individuals use their sexuality not only as a platform for truth, but also as a way to assist other young people to be true to themselves and not live a life in fear. Some may surprise you, others are well-known to the LGBT community. Their stories instill hope that sexuality will become less of an issue then living an inspired life.

April 11th, 2014 11:35am EDT
Roseanne Barr
Roseanne Barr has joined the new judges panel on NBC’s competition Last Comic Standing. In an industry still facing a bias from male comics saying “women aren’t funny,” Barr says such comments are irrelevant.

“It's just something that stupid people say,” Barr said on a panel for Last Comic. “It's totally irrelevant, and I don't pay any attention to it. There's a lot of great women standup comics in this competition. There's a lot of great women comics for many years. That's just something easy that people are allowed to get away with. If you were going to change the word ‘woman’ to an e...

In the civil rights movement, three workers were murdered in Mississippi during the "Freedom Summer," and Anchorage, Alaska was hit by a massive earthquake.

Sesame Street
Back in June, Bert from the popular Sesame Street duo Bert and Ernie posted a seemingly-innocent entry on Twitter: "Bert: Ever notice how similar my hair is to Mr. T’s? The only difference is mine is a little more ‘mo,’ a little less ‘hawk.’"

"Mo" is considered slang for male homosexual within the gay community, and the post was made during Pride Month (as well as the release of The A-Team movie). Gay bloggers rejoiced that Bert was coming out of the closet, and once again the relationship between Bert and Ernie - who live and sleep in the same room - was called into question.

The late 11pm start time for the first episode of "The Cho Show" on VH1 seemed to me to be an exciting harbinger of edgy, wickedly profane comedy to come. It all started promisingly enough: Comedienne extraordinaire Margaret Cho opened her new reality series with hard rock, a funny bit about Jack Black and his only towel (you had to be there) and a flash of her va-jay-jay - suitable and desired for a late-night crowd. Then something truly unexpected happened: Margaret became mundane.

The usually outrageous Cho is not only restrained in this series opener, she's downright neutered. Her ...
