From the shocking deaths of Glee star Cory Monteith and Fast & Furious' Paul Walker, to those who left us in old age, on their terms, we bid them one last goodbye.

Cory Monteith and James Gandolfini will be among the late stars remembered during a special tribute section at the 65th Primetime Emmy Awards on Sunday (22Sep13).

Organisers of the annual prizegiving, which honours the best of TV, have planned a memorial segment for the pair, alongside actress Jean Stapleton, comic Jonathan Winters and producer Gary David Goldberg.

Jean Stapleton's first theatre to be renovated in her honour

A Pennsylvania theatre where Jean Stapleton first trod the boards is set for a makeover in her memory.

The All In The Family star passed away last month (May13) at the age of 90, and on Wednesday (05Jun13) the lights on Broadway were dimmed in her honour.

Now bosses at the Totem Pole Playhouse, where Stapleton got her break in the 1950s, have announced a renovation project, despite putting the $5,000 (£3,225) overhaul on hold last year (12).

Sally Struthers has paid a touching tribute to late actress Jean Stapleton, calling her former onscreen mother "a walking, living angel".

The All in the Family matriarch died on 31 May (13) at the age of 90, and her TV daughter has spoken out to share her fond memories of the star.

Struthers tells TVGuide.com she last saw Stapleton when she visited her at her New York apartment, which she reveals was painted "buttery yellow" and was just as "cheery and happy as Jean was".

Veteran U.S. TV and stage actress Jean Stapleton has died, aged 90.

The actress passed away on Friday (31May13) of natural causes at her home in New York City, according to multiple reports.

Stapleton will best be remembered as Archie Bunker's long-suffering wife Edith in hit 1970s sitcom All in the Family. She won three Emmy Awards for the role.

She also portrayed Eleanor Roosevelt in the 1982 film Eleanor, First Lady of the World and appeared in You've Got Mail, opposite Tom Hanks, and Michael, starring John Travolta.

Beloved TV actress Jean Stapleton passed away Friday in New York City at the age of 90.

The actress, who won three Emmy Awards for her role as Archie Bunker's "dingbat" wife Edith on "All in the Family," died of natural causes, according to her family.

Stapleton played the character for nine seasons on "All in the Family" and reprised the role on the show's 1979 spinoff, "Archie Bunker's Place."She grew tired of the role after one season and asked producer Norman Lear -- whose casting her in Family made her an instant star -- to write her out of the show.
