Octavia Spencer has landed her first TV role. The Oscar-winning actress is set to star in a reboot of beloved 1980s murder mystery series Murder She Wrote.

Spencer will star as mystery author and amateur detective Jessica Fletcher, the role made famous by Angela Lansbury, earning her 12 Emmy nominations.
