The closing weekend of the 11th annual Tribeca Film Festival went out with an epic bang worthy of superheroes. The Friday night premiere of Queen: Days of Our Lives was entertaining and funny (who knew drummers could be funny?). One of the best bits came when the band described how "Another One Bites the Dust" came about--Roger Taylor explains that John Deacon came up with the baseline; the band thought it was great and they all took a break by going out to pizza, only to find that he'd forgotten his part when they returned. 'The Avengers' written and directed by Joss Whedon (Cabin In The Woods) has not one, not two, but six super heroes, who, under the leadership of Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson), director of the international peacekeeping agency, S.H.I.E.L.D. come together to save the planet of course.

"The Avengers" Los Angeles premiere was a star-studded event yesterday. Scarlett Johansson, who plays Black Widow, opted for a simple strapless black dress, while Robert Downey Jr. popped in a purple suit.

In the film, Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) and the international agency S.H.I.E.L.D. bring together a team of super humans to form The Avengers. Their mission? To help save the Earth from Loki (Tom Hiddleston) & his army. "The Avengers" will be closing the Tribeca Film Festival with a special screening April 28, and then will hit theaters May 4.

The Tribeca Film Festival (TFF), presented by American Express, announced today that Marvel's The Avengers, presented by Marvel Studios in association with Paramount Pictures, will close its 11th edition on Saturday, April 28.

Honoring the spirit of the Tribeca Film Festival, the screening will allow the opportunity for Marvel's The Avengers to celebrate everyday heroes from police agencies, fire departments, first responders and various branches of the U.S. military. After a short break How I Met Your Mother returned last night with an all new episode written by the show’s co-creators, Carter Bays and Craig Thomas. The last episode left us with Ted (Josh Radnor) in a transition. Robin (Cobie Smulders) told him that she didn’t love him, and as a result she moved out of the apartment above MacLaren’s. Ted, sensing that he needed a change too, gave the apartment back to Marshall (Jason Segel) and Lily (Alyson Hannigan) and began looking for a new place.

At the end of last episode HIMYM fans were left with the shocker revelation that Robin was pregnant. With a rerun last Monday, it gave two weeks for the rumor mill to churn up gossip. I reported on my blog that the most reliable sources said that Barney was not the father, it was Kevin. Half of that rumor turned out to be true.

The promise of the return of the Slutty Pumpkin made this year’s Halloween episode of HIMYM one of the most anticipated episodes in a long time. HIMYM continues to pull in the A-list guest stars with Katie Holmes appearing as Naomi, the girl Ted ran into at a party 10 years earlier.
