Brooke Smith has defended her former TV bosses at Grey's Anatomy, insisting she has "no hard feelings" after her lesbian character was written out of the show.

Network bosses announced Smith would be axed from the show last month, sparking rumors she was written out of the series in a bid to end her character Dr Erica Hahn's burgeoning homosexual affair.

Actor Isaiah Washington has lashed out at his former bosses on hit U.S. TV series Grey's Anatomy - insisting their decision to write Brooke Smith's character out of the show is "disgusting."

Washington's contract on the ABC medical drama wasn't extended after he used homophobic language during a 2006 on-set rant with co-star Patrick Dempsey.

A leading gay rights group has praised bosses of hit TV show Grey's Anatomy for its recent lesbian plot line - despite the news that one of the gay characters it to be axed.

With hits like Queer Eye for the Straight Guy and Will & Grace drawing millions of fans on both sides of the gay fence it seemed like a veritable gay revolution was at hand. No more new Grey's Anatomy episodes are set to air, at least not until the strike is resolved. Let's take a look back at the shortened fourth season of everyone's favorite show about a hospital where you would never want to be a patient.

Plastic Bottles Banned From 'Grey's Anatomy' Set

Television bosses have gone green on the set of Grey's Anatomy - by banning plastic bottles. Actress Brooke Smith was pleasantly surprised when she joined the cast full-time for the fourth season of the TV hit to discover each person working on the show has their own thermos flask.

Smith, who has made several guest appearances in previous seasons of "Grey's Anatomy," says, "I got a bottle. I got a little thermos. I think one thing that should be mentioned and applauded is that they have banished plastic bottles from the set. Isn't that cool? It's the first time I've seen it.
