Review: 'A Perfect Getaway' With A Twist

8/6/2009 3:26pm EDT
A Perfect Getaway
The less you know about "A Perfect Getaway" going in, the better you will be served. It's the type of film you walk out of saying, "Well, I actually didn't see that twist coming" (It's not giving too much away revealing that a film like this would have a twist, a real twist would be if it didn't have a twist). And even say, perhaps, "Wait, was that a good movie?" You know, it almost isn't a good movie. Until, well, "it" happens. Oh, when "it" happens, this goes from your average late summer thriller to something quite different. The crazy thing is that "it" happens right smack in the middle...

Trailer Talk: This Week In Movies 7/26 - 8/1

G.I. Joe: Rise of Cobra
Over the weekend, I caught Judd Apatow's new film "Funny People" starring Adam Sandler and Seth Rogen. "Funny People" lived up to my expectations; it's funny at points with an appropriate seriousness that's present throughout the movie.

I thoroughly enjoyed the bond that Sandler and Rogen's characters form over the course of the film. Rogen plays a socially awkward comic struggling to find his way, and Sandler is a jaded celebrity trying to make meaning out of his tragic situation. I was surprised by how unlikable Sandler's character is at points, revealing that his problems in life a...

Unnecessary and Unwanted: The Worst TV Cast Additions

3/5/2008 3:33pm EST
Ted McGinley
You know them, you loathe them. They are the unnecessary, obnoxious and often just plain annoying mid-series additions to established shows. Sure, there are times when a compelling, fresh-faced character is introduced and breathes new life into a series. Unfortunately, those instances are few and far between. Like with most of the television industry, the bad in this case far outweighs the good.

What follows is a list of the worst cast additions** in the last 30 years. Each and every one of the characters mentioned below was detrimental to the series in which he or she appeared. Som...
