10 Actresses Who Would Be Perfect As 'Captain Marvel'
Marvel announced a whole slate of new movies coming out between now and 2019 on Tuesday, and one of them will be the studio's first feature superhero film with a female lead.

"Captain Marvel" will focus on character Carol Danvers, the seventh to take the mantle after originally being known as Ms. Marvel.

Danvers, who was officially given the title in a 2012 comic, is one of the most powerful characters in the Marvel Universe. For starters, she's a highly intelligent former Air Force pilot and really good at spying. She ends up working in the C.I.A. and then with Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jacks...

You may know actress Katee Sackhoff as Captain Kara "Starbuck" Thrace on the hit series "Battlestar Galactica" or as Deputy Sheriff Victoria “Vic” Moretti on the A&E series "Longmire." She recently sat down with HIV Plus magazine to discuss her first HIV test, her charitable biker gang, what she has in common with her "Longmire" character and what would happen if women ruled the world.

"I think as an adult, and as a person who is sexually active, it is your responsibility to get tested as much as you think you need to," she told the magazine. "If you are promiscuous and don't use protectio...

10/6/2011 1:30pm EDT
The CSI franchise has become a mainstay on CBS - and likewise it's a fixture on DVD shelves. With the new seasons underway, the previous years of CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, CSI: Miami and CSI: NY have arrived for you to add to your collection. Here's a look at all three new releases.

CSI: Crime Scene Investigation - Season 11

The Show: Season 11 is Laurence Fishburne's third and last as Dr. Raymond Langston. I'm pretty sure that I'm in the minority here, but I liked Fishburne and thought he did a decent job while facing an audience that was and still is incredibly attached to...

The sexy stars will set off from Los Angeles in the week before the event, which is scheduled to run over the Halloween weekend.

Katee Sackhoff Heads To 'CSI'

9/8/2010 7:00pm EDT
Katee Sackhoff
Scoop master Michael Ausiello, writer for Entertainment Weekly, is reporting that Battlestar Gallactica hottie and recent 24 cast member Katee Sackhoff has been picked up to star as a possible recurring role in CSI where she will play Detective Reed, a smart, tough, and feisty investigator with an acknowledged lack of sensitivity. Sounds like the part was written for her reading that description and it sounds a lot like the character Starbuck that she played on BSG.

Sackhoff was the producers choice to succeed Jorja Fox when she left the series but when Sackhoff read for the part, they we...

Katee Sackhoff Beats Cancer

3/31/2010 11:30pm EDT
"Battlestar Galactica" and "24" star Katee Sackhoff has beaten cancer - but the fight has put her in therapy.

The 29-year-old actress, who plays Dana Walsh on the hit show, was diagnosed with thyroid cancer last year, and now feels sure she has won her battle for life.

The health crisis has given her a new outlook on life - but the scare put her in therapy.

She says, "It was the scariest thing I've ever been through. I'm still in therapy trying to get over it."

But the disease has given her new positivity: "I had cancer. Nothing scares me now."

Katee Sackhoff: Hot Or Not?

1/19/2010 11:52am EST
Katee Sackhoff
Katee Sackhoff is one of the new faces on 24 this season, and it's one we're glad to see. The former Battlestar Galactica star plays Dana Walsh, Chloe's boss.

She sizzled on screen as Starbuck, and we figure she'll do the same with Jack Bauer. She recently told Starpulse, "I think that every role that I play, I try to give it a little bit of pizzazz to put it in the vault, like that was a good character. She (Dana Walsh) definitely is. She has her moments and I'm excited."

What's New On '24?' Katee Sackhoff

1/14/2010 9:09am EST
Katee Sackhoff
24 shakes things up every year. They've killed David Palmer. They've killed Tony Almeida. They've brought Tony back. This year, they have many new characters, including Battlestar Galactica's Katee Sackhoff.

"I play Dana Walsh," Sackhoff told us. "She's engaged to Cole Ortiz who is played by Freddie Prinze Jr. She's Chloe's boss and no relationship with Jack."

Sackhoff made a female Starbuck win over the die hard BSG fans, so she's sure to bring some juice to 24. "I think that every role that I play, I try to give it a little bit of pizzazz to put it in the vault, like that was a good...

Stephen Root Talks 'The Men Who Stare At Goats,' George Clooney & '24'

11/6/2009 3:15pm EST
Stephen Root
The new George Clooney led comedy, "The Men Who Stare At Goats", opens today and it is filled to the brim with a who's who spectacular cast that will make you find yourself scratching your head and saying, 'I cannot believe they're all in this!"

"The Men Who Stare At Goats" has roots in the Cold War; where the United States military tried using psychic abilities to destroy other people. Yes, attempts at learning how to stare people to death actually happened in the most serious of matters. Needless to say, it's funny through and through.

We were lucky enough to speak with Stephen Ro...

9 Stars Who Have Felt The Wrath Of 'Halloween's' Michael Myers

8/26/2009 10:48am EDT
Halloween II
When John Carpenter envisioned his horrific tale of a serial killer terrorizing his family more than 30 years ago, he likely had no idea that "Halloween" would become one of the longest-running film franchises ever.

Over the course of 10 films, including Rob Zombie's two semi-unrelated movies ("Halloween II" opens Aug. 28), many famous faces have drifted through Haddonfield, some in major roles, others in bit parts.

Here are nine stars who have felt Michael Myers' wrath in the "Halloween" films.

Jamie Lee Curtis: No one has their success more intricately linked with these movies t...

TV Shows On The Verge Of Jumping The Shark

7/15/2009 11:23am EDT
The concept of 'jumping the shark' is a fatal one for many involved in television. It all began in the tragic episode of 'Happy Days' in which iconic character, The Fonz, literally jumps over a shark, thus placing a death toll on the rest of the series. Decades later, some TV writers have playfully used the term in decidedly ironic tones, both 'The X-Files' and 'Supernatural' have episodes titled 'Jump the Shark' (Note: a portion of 'Supernatural's' crew are 'X-Files' alum) that tiptoe the line of throwing a series into oblivion.

We will have a few current TV shows that we believe ar...

Top Five Questions We'd Like Answered In 'Battlestar Galactica's' Final Season

1/12/2009 10:21am EST
Battlestar Galactica
Sometimes, when letting my mind wander to the various odd and fluffy locales it frequents while unoccupied (read: at my day job), I find myself smacked in the face anew by the sobering realization that, beginning January 16th, we are in a ten-episode sprint to the Very End of what many have deemed to be one of the Best Shows Ever. Indeed, Battlestar Galactica returns in one week, with ten final episodes in its brilliant four-season (and two-TV-movie) run. While I'm obviously thrilled and teeth-gnashingly excited for new episodes, I'm also a bit antsy-there are, after all, a LOT of loose e...

Review: 'Stargate SG-1' & 'Battlestar Galactica' At Comic Con

8/4/2008 9:11am EDT
Stargate SG-1
"Stargate SG-1" is one of the most successful science fiction series of all time, stretching over various different industries: movie, television, book, and toy. There are some that claim it has surpassed even "Star Trek" in popularity. Based off the movie "Stargate," it boasted five seasons on Showtime and the remaining five seasons on the Sci-Fi Channel. It spawned one spin off series "Stargate Atlantis" and now two made-for-tv movies. The newest one, "Stargate Continuum" was released on July 29, just a few days after the San Diego Comic Con in which it was premiered and given its own pan...

Our Favorite TV Ensembles

6/12/2008 9:00am EDT
An ensemble cast is a group of actors in which each character/actor is assigned an equal level of importance to the story. Sometimes even if there is an established "main character," a show can be considered an ensemble because individuals are treated with the same care and development as everyone else on the show.

This sort of cast style gives the audience a chance to connect with several different characters rather than just one; if a viewer does not like one of the characters or cannot relate to them, there will be several more to choose from. It creates very broad storylines and v...
