Kelly Rutherford Reaches Out To Her Ex

February 17th, 2009 9:27am EST
Kelly Rutherford
Kelly Rutherford has reached out to her estranged husband Daniel Giersch - insisting the publicly scrutinized custody battle for their two-year-old son pushed them into saying "things they don't mean."

The actress filed for divorce from Giersch in December and the couple waged a war of words through the courts over who should be granted the right to look after their son, Hermes, while Rutherford films hit series Gossip Girl in New York. The couple testified against each other in a hearing at a Santa Monica, California court in January.

A judge subsequently ruled in favor of Ruth...

Kelly Rutherford
Gossip Girl star Kelly Rutherford has revealed she twice called the police on her estranged husband Daniel Giersch, as the couple's divorce battle gets nastier and nastier.

On the eve of the pair's court battle over custody of their two-year-old son Hermes, Rutherford has claimed Giersch left her terrified after a fight, and she felt intimidated because of his boxing and kickboxing skills.

Rutherford, 40, who is four months pregnant with the former couple's second child, reveals she reported her husband to the authorities when the pair was staying at the Wales Hotel in New York....

'Gossip Girl' Recap: You've Got Yale

January 20th, 2009 10:02am EST
Gossip Girl
Sometimes I wonder about Gossip Girl. I mean, how is it possible that everyone gets their college acceptance letters (on their cell phones, no less) at the exact same time? I thought that sort of milestone was still reserved for snail mail. And, what's even odder is that Blair's father (John Shea) and his French lover flew into town for the big day. And with all that anticipation, Blair (Leighton Meester) still got waitlisted for Yale. At least she didn't get rejected. But, in her eyes, she might have well been. I really do ponder how much Josh Schwartz takes from the Gossip Girl books, rec...

'Gossip Girl' Recap: Gone With The Will

January 13th, 2009 9:39am EST
Gossip Girl
The latest on Gossip Girl, Chuck (Ed Westwick) needs support. He's needed it for a long time, but been too much a 'Bass' to truly admit it. Until last week when Blair (Leighton Meester) took Chuck into her arms and said she needed him to keep trying…to keep being.

Chuck invited Blair to the reading of his father's will. Blair didn't realize that Nate (Chace Crawford) was also part of this special V.I.P. treatment, along with the now oldest Bass, Jack (Desmond Harrington). Jack was announced as Chuck's new legal guardian… at least until he turns 18. I'm sure the Gossip Girl crew is get...

Gossip Girl star Kelly Rutherford fears her estranged husband will vanish with their son after she filed divorce papers last month.

The star is seeking to bar David Giersch from leaving America with their two-year-old son, Hermes. Meanwhile, Rutherford's estranged husband has filed papers in Los Angeles alleging the actress, who is pregnant with the couple's second child, once threw a laptop computer at him in a rage.

Both parties are seeking sole physical custody of their son with monitored visitation. Filing emergency papers at the end of last week, the actress asked court o...

'Gossip Girl' Recap: O Brother, Where Bart Thou?

December 9th, 2008 9:43am EST
Gossip Girl
Well, it wasn't a big surprise to learn in the first 30 seconds of this week's Gossip Girl that Bart Bass (Robert John Burke) had died in a terrible accident. He did have some last words, left in a voicemail to Lily (Kelly Rutherford). He knew about her time spent in a hospital in France. What did she do? That's a secret Bart took to his grave; fortunately, his private investigator made it through the crash (I'm assuming he was in the accident too, he was indeed last seen with Bart in the car) and lived to sell the information to the highest bidder.

But, for once, the Upper East Siders...

Mr. Bass Gets Into An Accident On 'Gossip Girl'

December 2nd, 2008 9:42am EST
Gossip Girl
A few weeks have passed, but nothing from the Gossip Girl Thanksgiving has remained in the past. Lily (Kelly Rutherford) and Bart (Robert John Burke) aren't speaking after discovering secret files. Vanessa (Jessica Szohr) and Jenny (Taylor Momsen) are still acting awkward because of Nate (Chace Crawford). And apparently, newcomer Aaron Rose (John Patrick Amedori) is still monogamous with the one and only Serena van der Woodsen (Blake Lively).

But Aaron, being the brooding artist that he, is doesn't want to attend the prep school's Snowflake Charity Ball with Serena. Dan (Penn Badgley) ...

'Gossip Girl' Recap: 'There Might Be Blood'

November 4th, 2008 10:43am EST
Gossip Girl
Two words - Jenny Humphrey. Gossip Girl's leading lady of the night was definitely Jenny (Taylor Momsen). She spent all her time, money and effort into creating her own clothing line, J Humphrey Designs. With the help of model Agnes (Willa Holland) and her in-the-know friends Jenny had the gusto to throw a guerrilla fashion show in the middle of a ceremony honoring Bart (Robert John Burke) and Lily (Kelly Rutherford) Bass for their contributions to the New York Philanthropic Society.

All the glory didn't come easily for Jenny. She'd been dealing with drama ever since she decided to lea...

'Gossip Girl' Recap: 'Chuck In Real Life'

October 21st, 2008 9:44am EDT
Gossip Girl
It's finally time for the Bass' and van der Woodsen clan to make a formal appearance as a family for all Manhattan to see. Bart (Robert John Burke) has returned from his ever-extended business trip and this means new rules and guidelines that include no going out on school nights and curfews. What's a gossip girl to do with such imposing restrictions? Defy them, of course! Chuck (Ed Westwick) teases Serena (Blake Lively) for staying in and reading a book while he goes to make a "house call."

This "house" being called upon ends up being none other than Blair Waldorf's (Leighton Meester)...

'Gossip Girl' Recap – The Serena Also Rises

September 30th, 2008 10:14am EDT
Gossip Girl
Its time for a catfight on the catwalk, or at least Blair (Leighton Meester) seems to believe so. Her drama with Serena (Blake Lively) has gone too far for comfort; Serena is stealing the girls at school away from Blair's rule and now hanging out with happening socialites like Poppy Lifton and ignoring sacred 'BFF' traditions with Blair.

But, let's go back to how we got here -- Serena and Blair haven't exactly been on the best of terms, even way back to the show's beginning (last fall, before the writer's strike). The girls' friendship has been estranged ever since Serena's leave of ab...

Kelly Rutherford Confirms 'Gossip Girl' Couple

Kelly Rutherford
Actors Blake Lively and Penn Badgely's off-screen relationship has been confirmed - by their Gossip Girl co-star Kelly Rutherford.

The two stars vehemently denied they were an item in January after rumors surfaced claiming they had been dating since Lively split from her ex boyfriend, actor Kelly Bratz. And, even though the pair was photographed frolicking on a beach in Mexico seemingly enjoying a romantic holiday last month, Lively insisted she was just friends with Badgley.

She told reporters, "Any male friend is obviously a 'romance alert', but I've always been friends with b...

'Melrose Place': Where Are They Now?

February 25th, 2008 12:00pm EST
Melrose Place
Sixteen years ago we were first introduced to Melrose Place, an innocent (at least it started that way) spin-off of Beverly Hills, 90210 that took place in a West Hollywood apartment complex. I know as an 8-year-old boy I was excited to see what the lives of 20-something people would be like. I assumed lots of swimming and talking about art. I was wrong, so very very wrong. Seeing as the show ended its run almost 10 years ago we should look back and see just where those over-sexed and off-kilter roommates have gone. Now I can relate to what the show was about!

Thomas Calabro (Dr. ...

'Gossip Girl' Episode Recap: 'Blair Waldorf Must Pie!'

November 29th, 2007 12:50pm EST
Gossip Girl
Gossip Girl's Thanksgiving episode is a masterpiece of teen drama. Peppered with flashbacks from the past year, the series' tenth episode proves that these characters are -gasp!- even more screwed up than we thought.

The opening scene paints the picture of one year earlier, when a wandering Dan Humphrey (Penn Badgley) saved a drunk Serena van der Woodsen (Blake Lively) as she crossed the street. So Dan and Serena have met before! He saved her life! Serena used to be an alcoholic! For the first time, Lively's acting seems stale; her play on inebriation comes off forced and the plot lin...

'Gossip Girl' Episode Recap: 'Victor, Victrola'

November 8th, 2007 10:37am EST
Gossip Girl
It's already been established that "Gossip Girl" is the new O.C. It has hot teenagers, overdramatic plot twists, and fabulously wealthy protagonists. It's the "O.C.," but seedier and grittier.

In the seventh episode of its first season, GG doesn't disappoint. The cinematography is still drool worthy (the Upper East Side has never looked better), and the action is still deliciously theatrical.

This week's episode, directed by Tony Wharmby and written by K.J. Steinberg, opens with a shot of Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester). She's onstage, and she's stripping. We're used to seei...
