'Melrose Place': Where Are They Now?

February 25th, 2008 12:00pm EST
Melrose Place
Sixteen years ago we were first introduced to Melrose Place, an innocent (at least it started that way) spin-off of Beverly Hills, 90210 that took place in a West Hollywood apartment complex. I know as an 8-year-old boy I was excited to see what the lives of 20-something people would be like. I assumed lots of swimming and talking about art. I was wrong, so very very wrong. Seeing as the show ended its run almost 10 years ago we should look back and see just where those over-sexed and off-kilter roommates have gone. Now I can relate to what the show was about!

'Gossip Girl' Episode Recap: 'Blair Waldorf Must Pie!'

November 29th, 2007 12:50pm EST
Gossip Girl
Gossip Girl's Thanksgiving episode is a masterpiece of teen drama. Peppered with flashbacks from the past year, the series' tenth episode proves that these characters are -gasp!- even more screwed up than we thought.

The opening scene paints the picture of one year earlier, when a wandering Dan Humphrey (Penn Badgley) saved a drunk Serena van der Woodsen (Blake Lively) as she crossed the street. So Dan and Serena have met before! He saved her life! Serena used to be an alcoholic! For the first time, Lively's acting seems stale; her play on inebriation comes off forced and the plot lin...

'Gossip Girl' Episode Recap: 'Victor, Victrola'

November 8th, 2007 10:37am EST
Gossip Girl
It's already been established that "Gossip Girl" is the new O.C. It has hot teenagers, overdramatic plot twists, and fabulously wealthy protagonists. It's the "O.C.," but seedier and grittier.

In the seventh episode of its first season, GG doesn't disappoint. The cinematography is still drool worthy (the Upper East Side has never looked better), and the action is still deliciously theatrical.

This week's episode, directed by Tony Wharmby and written by K.J. Steinberg, opens with a shot of Blair Waldorf (Leighton Meester). She's onstage, and she's stripping. We're used to seei...
