Has Kelly Rutherford Lost Her Children?

10/8/2015 5:17pm EDT
Kelly Rutherford
Kelly Rutherford thought she had a fair chance of splitting custody with her ex-husband Daniel Giersch when they got divorced. She filed for divorce back in 2008, but she lost custody of her children and he moved them to Europe so she couldn’t easily see them. It has been a long battle for her, but she is now allowed to spend time with her kids. Kelly recently sat down with Vanity Fair and broke down the lengthy and excruciating details of how her children — Hermes, 8, and Helena, 6 — ended up living in Monaco with their German businessman father.

According to a new report, Kelly Rutherfo...

‘Gossip Girl’ Wisdom: 50 Ways To Make Your Life Better
Serena (Blake Lively), Blair (Leighton Meester), Nate (Chace Crawford), Chuck (Ed Westwick), Dan (Penn Badgley), Jenny (Taylor Momsen) and a coterie of others had it all. But “all” was more than just clothes, travel via private jet, and elevators that open right into the penthouse. They had a point of view as inspiring as the one from their expansive terraces.

I realized this when recently binge-watching the iconic show that ran from 2007 to 2012. Although I could have done without seasons three and four, I found one, two, five and six rather entertaining. Even though the plots are thin an...

The 17-year-old actress/rocker has come under intense scrutiny for her outspoken opinions and provocative persona, and she has been accused of being a bad role model for her young fans.

Rutherford, who plays Momsen's onscreen step-mom in the hit drama, reveals she is concerned about the way the young star conducts herself - but insists she doesn't feel qualified to offer her help to her young colleagues.

She tells Britain's ...

'Gossip Girl' Recap: 'Last Tango, Then Paris'

5/18/2010 9:12am EDT
All the Gossip Girl OMG moments were a little too WTF to produce overly compelling drama for this week’s season finale. For starters, with so many people shacking up these days, it’s becoming a little difficult to know who’s sleeping and around and who’s just…sleeping.

Jenny (Taylor Momsen) woke up in Nate’s (Chace Crawford) bed wearing his shirt, and not much else. Chuck (Ed Westwick) disrupted the sleeping beauties (who were just sleeping) and then carried on his merry way to the top of the Empire State Building where he was going to wait to propose his love (and possibly more!) to Blair...

'Gossip Girl' Recap: 'Dr. Estrangeloved'

4/27/2010 9:50am EDT
gossip girl
After so many weeks of secrecy and lies, this week Gossip Girl took a stab at coming clean with the truth. The first big revelation this episode was about Lily (Kelly Rutherford) and why she’s been missing for so long. It turns out that Lily has been hiding because she is “sick” with some form of cancer that apparently only her ex-husband William (Billy Baldwin) can treat. This, of course, made Rufus (Matthew Settle) jealous and angry that William would even suggest that Lily hide her illness from him and the kids. The scope of the matter only proceeded to get worse as William told Lily tha...

'Gossip Girl' Recap: 'The Hurt Locket'

3/9/2010 8:20am EST
gossip girl
Even though audiences had to wait for Gossip Girl’s long winter break to end, two of our favorite Upper East siders didn’t have to wait at all to cultivate their newfound relationship. Serena (Blake Lively) and Nate (Chace Crawford) couldn’t keep their hands off each other the entire episode, despite what their close friends, Dan (Penn Badgley) and Blair (Leighton Meester) suggested.

Dan, who’s still reeling from his break up with Olivia (Hilary Duff) as part of the backlash from the threesome with Vanessa (Jessica Szohr), decided to push Nate to take it slow with Serena. He tried to offer...

'Gossip Girl' Recap: Thanksgiving Table Serves As Love's Chopping Block

12/1/2009 8:35am EST
Gossip Girl
This week's episode of Gossip Girl felt more like a Valentine's Day Massacre, rather than Thanksgiving dinner. Cupid's arrows were flying every which direction, ensuring that trouble was cooking alongside the turkey.

First up on love's chopping block - Nate Archibald (Chace Crawford). Nate hinted in the last episode that he'd been harboring feelings for Serena (Blake Lively) for the past three years. He's been doing a pretty damn good job of hiding those feelings, considering in the meantime he's been with Blair (Leighton Meester), Vanessa (Jessica Szohr), Jenny (Taylor Momsen), and who ...

'Gossip Girl' Recap: 'The Lost Boy'

9/29/2009 9:15am EDT
Gossip Girl
This week Gossip Girl proved the sad fact that even when you think people have changed, they probably haven't. Georgina (Michelle Trachtenberg) was still out to destroy Blair (Leighton Meester). Her first step was destroying Blair's gag reflexes by sucking face with Dan (Penn Badgley) in their dorm room. Even though Blair left the room, Serena (Blake Lively) happened to catch Dan's walk of shame. Vanessa (Jessica Szohr) and Serena both expressed concern about Dan's "dating" Georgina.

Vanessa had bigger problems, though. Scott (Chris Riggi) was acting weirder than his usual creepy self. H...

'Gossip Girl' Recap: 'The Wrath of Con'

5/5/2009 10:06am EDT
Gossip Girl
This week, the Gossip Girl gang united their powers for good, instead of evil…sort of. After Gabriel (Armie Hammer) supposedly took everyone's money, Serena (Blake Lively) enlisted the help of her friends to get it back. Blair (Leighton Meester) used Serena's crisis to avoid talking to Nate (Chace Crawford) about living together next year. And Chuck used this to his advantage to bring Georgina Sparks (Michelle Trachtenberg) back to the Upper East Side.

Serena originally was going to tell her mother (Kelly Rutherford) about the stolen money, but Lily prevented her from doing so by...

'Gossip Girl' Recap: 'Seder Anything'

4/21/2009 9:51am EDT
Gossip Girl
Gossip Girl celebrated Passover Seder, which meant it was a good time for the writers to find all words that rhymed with Seder…like cater and waiter. Eleanor Waldorf (Margaret Colin) and new husband Cyrus (Wallace Shawn) hosted the Seder dinner at their home, but it ended up being a mess - as most things turn out on the Upper East Side.

It all began when Blair (Leighton Meester) decided to skip Seder for Nate's (Chace Crawford) cousin's wedding. She thought that Nate had a surprise up his sleeve for her, namely his future cousin-in-law putting in a recommendation for her to be on a p...

'Gossip Girl' Recap: Sweet Sixteen

3/31/2009 9:35am EDT
Gossip Girl
It may have been Jenny Humphrey's (Taylor Momsen) Sweet Sixteen, but she wasn't the only one being surprised on this week's episode of Gossip Girl. Chuck (Ed Westwick) was surprised to find Blair (Leighton Meester) and Nate (Chace Crawford) canoodling in the early morning hours. Vanessa (Jessica Szohr) was surprised to find this news out from Chuck. And Serena (Blake Lively) was surprised to realize she was living in a rut.

Serena, to alleviate her rut, decided to take it into her own hands to throw Jenny a smashing birthday party. Her plans, however, were slightly disrupted when Jenny...

'Gossip Girl' Recap: You've Got Yale

1/20/2009 10:02am EST
Gossip Girl
Sometimes I wonder about Gossip Girl. I mean, how is it possible that everyone gets their college acceptance letters (on their cell phones, no less) at the exact same time? I thought that sort of milestone was still reserved for snail mail. And, what's even odder is that Blair's father (John Shea) and his French lover flew into town for the big day. And with all that anticipation, Blair (Leighton Meester) still got waitlisted for Yale. At least she didn't get rejected. But, in her eyes, she might have well been. I really do ponder how much Josh Schwartz takes from the Gossip Girl books, rec...

'Gossip Girl' Recap: Gone With The Will

1/13/2009 9:39am EST
Gossip Girl
The latest on Gossip Girl, Chuck (Ed Westwick) needs support. He's needed it for a long time, but been too much a 'Bass' to truly admit it. Until last week when Blair (Leighton Meester) took Chuck into her arms and said she needed him to keep trying…to keep being.

Chuck invited Blair to the reading of his father's will. Blair didn't realize that Nate (Chace Crawford) was also part of this special V.I.P. treatment, along with the now oldest Bass, Jack (Desmond Harrington). Jack was announced as Chuck's new legal guardian… at least until he turns 18. I'm sure the Gossip Girl crew is get...

'Gossip Girl' Recap: O Brother, Where Bart Thou?

12/9/2008 9:43am EST
Gossip Girl
Well, it wasn't a big surprise to learn in the first 30 seconds of this week's Gossip Girl that Bart Bass (Robert John Burke) had died in a terrible accident. He did have some last words, left in a voicemail to Lily (Kelly Rutherford). He knew about her time spent in a hospital in France. What did she do? That's a secret Bart took to his grave; fortunately, his private investigator made it through the crash (I'm assuming he was in the accident too, he was indeed last seen with Bart in the car) and lived to sell the information to the highest bidder.

But, for once, the Upper East Siders...

Mr. Bass Gets Into An Accident On 'Gossip Girl'

12/2/2008 9:42am EST
Gossip Girl
A few weeks have passed, but nothing from the Gossip Girl Thanksgiving has remained in the past. Lily (Kelly Rutherford) and Bart (Robert John Burke) aren't speaking after discovering secret files. Vanessa (Jessica Szohr) and Jenny (Taylor Momsen) are still acting awkward because of Nate (Chace Crawford). And apparently, newcomer Aaron Rose (John Patrick Amedori) is still monogamous with the one and only Serena van der Woodsen (Blake Lively).

But Aaron, being the brooding artist that he, is doesn't want to attend the prep school's Snowflake Charity Ball with Serena. Dan (Penn Badgley) ...

'Gossip Girl' Recap: 'There Might Be Blood'

11/4/2008 10:43am EST
Gossip Girl
Two words - Jenny Humphrey. Gossip Girl's leading lady of the night was definitely Jenny (Taylor Momsen). She spent all her time, money and effort into creating her own clothing line, J Humphrey Designs. With the help of model Agnes (Willa Holland) and her in-the-know friends Jenny had the gusto to throw a guerrilla fashion show in the middle of a ceremony honoring Bart (Robert John Burke) and Lily (Kelly Rutherford) Bass for their contributions to the New York Philanthropic Society.

All the glory didn't come easily for Jenny. She'd been dealing with drama ever since she decided to lea...
