Hip-hop star LL Cool J is in talks to play the lead role in a stage revival of Tennessee Williams 1950s classic movie Cat On A Hot Tin Roof. The rapper hopes to land the role as Brick, an alcoholic ex-American football player whose father is dying of cancer, played by Paul Newman in the original film.

Dreamgirls star Anika Noni Rose has been chosen to make Disney history as the voice of the movie studio's first black princess. The actress/singer beat the likes of Oscar-winning Dreamgirls co-star Jennifer Hudson, Alicia Keys and Tyra Banks, who all reportedly auditioned for the role.

Music World Entertainment announced today that Music World Music/Sony Urban Music/Columbia/Sony Music Soundtrax will release Dreamgirls -- Music From the Motion Picture, the official soundtrack album for the avidly awaited DreamWorks/ Paramount film Dreamgirls, on Tuesday, December 5.
