Today in New York City the CW Network annouced five new dramas for its 2012-13 lineup - The Carrie Diaries, Emily Owens, M.D., Arrow, Beauty and the Beast, and Cult. Specific air dates will be announced at a later time.

On Monday nights, 90210 returns at 8:00-9:00 p.m., and Gossip Girl will wrap up its six-season run at 9:00-10:00 p.m.

"Charlie & The Chocolate Factory" star AnnaSophia Robb has landed the coveted role of Carrie Bradshaw in a prequel to the "Sex And The City" TV series.

The young actress, who recently portrayed real-life surfing shark attack victim Bethany Hamilton in "Soul Surfer," joins Stefania Owen among the cast of the new high school drama, "The Carrie Diaries," which is set in the 1980s.

"Sex And The City" creator Candace Bushnell will be one of the show's executive producers.

With a real life passion for waves and a prior role on The-N's popular TV series "Beyond the Break", actor Ross Thomas returns, once again, to his love of surfing for the movie "Soul Surfer" which hits the silver screen nationwide today. Based on the incredible true story of Bethany Hamilton, "Soul Surfer" chronicles Bethany's inspiring path after the loss of her arm in an unexpected shark attack.

Movie tough guy Dennis Hopper had no problems pretending to beat child actress Anna-Sophia Robb in new movie Sleepwalking because her character's upbringing was just like his.
