February 28th, 2011 8:08am EST
R&B singer Ciara sparked an online war of words with Rihanna on Friday after she accused the "Umbrella" superstar of ignoring her at a recent party.

Ciara made the allegation during an appearance on Joan Rivers' "Fashion Police" show on the E! network after she was quizzed by the outlandish host about what she thought of Rihanna's style.

She told Rivers, "I ran into (Rihanna) recently at a party. She wasn't the nicest. It's crazy, because I've always loved and respected what she's done in fashion. It wasn't the most pleasant run-in."

Rihanna quickly retorted with a message on her Twitte,...

February 2nd, 2011 6:24am EST
Joan Rivers
Outspoken comedienne Joan Rivers has blasted Charlie Sheen for his recent "outrageous" behavior, insisting he should clean up his act for the sake of his children.

Sheen began a rehabilitation program last week shortly after he was hospitalized to treat a "hernia," causing production on his hit TV show Two and A Half Men to be put on hold while he gets clean.

And Rivers admits she is disgusted Sheen can continue his wild ways when he has four children - slamming the star for not giving up booze and drugs when he became a father.

She tells The Advocate, "I think he's an a**. When you hav...

This Week's Shining & Falling Stars: Joan Rivers And Jennifer Aniston

January 7th, 2011 9:34am EST
Joan Rivers
Shining Star – Joan Rivers: At the age of 77, one of the (nipped and tucked) queens of comedy is showing those young whippersnappers how it’s done.

Pretty soon Joan Rivers will soon have not one, but two (or possibly even three) shows on the boob tube.

The saucy comedienne already returned to E!’s airwaves earlier this year (after parting with the channel back in 2003) for her weekly “Fashion Police” show. And she put her gift of gab to good use as host of TV Land’s “How’d You Get So Rich?” series (which hasn’t yet been renewed for a third season).

Now, she’s getting Kardashian-ed. In ot...

She tells, "They've never asked me, so they can go f--k themselves!. I certainly fall into their old lady category.

"I would do it for the exercise. Making yourself dance everyday for six hours a day I think would be so great."

Joan Rivers Urges Gay Stars To 'Stay In The Closet'

June 28th, 2010 12:05pm EDT
Joan Rivers
Joan Rivers has caused controversy by urging gay stars not to reveal their true sexuality - because 'coming out' could damage their career.

The outspoken comedienne is adamant show business is still difficult for homosexual stars, and she's convinced they would be better off keeping their love life private until they become well-established as an artist. And Rivers cites singer Ricky Martin, who revealed he's gay in March after years of speculation, as an example.

She tells The Advocate, "If you're going to be a romantic idol and try to get every teenage girl to love you, then you'd be ...

Joan Rivers Would Cast Daughter Melissa As Her Lesbian Lover

June 25th, 2010 4:03pm EDT
Joan & Melissa Rivers
Is Joan Rivers also urging young actors to stay in the closet? The Advocate's Brandon Voss talked to to the comedienne about this, why AIDS jokes are funny, and having daughter Melissa as her lesiban love interest.

ADVOCATE: Should young gay performers still keep their sexuality a secret?

It’s part of the game. If you’re going to be a romantic idol and try to get every teenage girl to love you, then you’d be an ass to come out and say you’re gay. That’s why Ricky Martin was so smart — he did what he did, he made his millions, and then he said, “Guess what, everybody? I’m gay, I’m havin...

June 24th, 2010 8:26am EDT
Joan Rivers
Joan Rivers' former manager is suing the comic for $2.2 million, alleging he is owed money for resurrecting her "dormant" career.

Billy Sammeth, who was hired by the outspoken "funnywoman" in 2002 and fired in 2009, filed a lawsuit in a New York court earlier this week claiming he is owed unpaid commissions. In the filed papers, the agent lists the jobs he allegedly landed Rivers and states he is still owed 10 per cent of her earnings, totaling $200,000.

He is also seeking $2 million in exemplary and punitive damages, accusing the star of defaming him in her recent TV documentary, Joan ...

Trailer Talk: This Week In Movies - 'The A-Team,' 'The Karate Kid,' & More

June 7th, 2010 9:18am EDT
Karate Kid
Last week’s “Get Him to the Greek” turned out to be much funnier than I expected it would be. Jonah Hill plays a naïve record company intern tasked with watching the wild rock star Aldous Snow, portrayed by Russell Brand. It’s clear right from the beginning that Hill’s character is unable to fathom the mess he has gotten into taking care of Snow, and he quickly gives in to Snow’s party lifestyle.

Most of the film’s humor is based in the awkward interactions between Hill’s Aaron and Brand’s Aldous, with typical lowbrow laughs. However this formula just seems to fit very well for the mov...

May 28th, 2010 11:00am EDT
Joan Rivers
Comedienne Joan Rivers has spoken out in defense of Sandra Bullock's shamed husband Jesse James, praising the TV mechanic for his kindly nature.

James has been at the center of a public backlash following revelations he cheated on his Oscar-winning wife, who walked out on him in March. He was further disgraced when a controversial picture of him wearing a military hat and giving a Nazi salute appeared in the press. James has since spoken out alleging the abuse he suffered at the hands of his father as a youngster contributed to his bad behavior as an adult.

Now Rivers, who appeared on T...

February 23rd, 2010 5:00pm EST
Joan Rivers Slams Victoria Beckham
Comedienne Joan Rivers has taken aim at Victoria Beckham, branding her "vulgar" for spending so much money on her appearance.

The funny woman blasts the singer-turned-fashion-designer for flaunting her wealth by purchasing luxury clothes and accessories, when she could be spending her money on more worthwhile causes.

Rivers says, "Victoria Beckham should get a life. I'm not a fan of outrageous consumption. I think it is vulgar. And no-one should flaunt that they have a hundred Hermes bags. Not when people are starving. Everyone should be allowed to have a great time but she shows a d...

Wanda Sykes On Her New Talk Show: 'Nothing Will Be Off Limits'

November 5th, 2009 10:40am EST
Wanda Sykes
With Jay Leno doing his 10:00 show, other talk show hosts are sweating. That doesn't scare Wanda Sykes though. She's launching The Wanda Sykes Show on Saturday, and she plans to make her weekly show the final word on the week's news.

"When we have Barack Obama running for President and this past campaign, I was like, 'Wow, I really wish I had an outlet where I could go out there and just speak on this on a week-to-week basis and be current,'" Sykes said. "That seemed like what they were getting at, what they wanted. And so I'm like, 'This is the time. This is the time to jump into it.'"...

Celebrities That Look Great Over The Years

October 14th, 2009 10:29am EDT
celebs that look great over the years
In Hollywood, looking a day over 25 is a liability. And then there are the celebrity faces that have been botoxed to the point that their foreheads have become unnatural plains of shiny, flat skin. The message in Hollywood is clear: young and perky equals good; saggy and old equals bad.

This debasing assessment is generally more applicable to women than it is to men, whose aging process garners descriptions like "sugar daddy," "distinguished grey," and "silver fox." Society bids women to believe that in order to be considered beautiful and desirable, they must be cellulite, sag, and wri...

Since the dawn of the American cinematic blockbuster in the late 1970s and early 1980s, moviegoers have eagerly waited for May - the unofficial beginning of summertime. This summer is no different. Joe: Rise of Cobra, Inglourious Basterds, et...
