Actress Raven-Symone revealed on "Oprah: Where Are They Now" that she considers herself an American, not African American.

When the talk show host replied that she would be, "You're going to set Twitter on fire. You're going to get a lot of flack for saying you're not African-American. You know that, right?" Symone clarified with an answer that was not only the first time she has openly talked about her sexuality, but also revealed how she feels as a human being in today's society.

In a post celebrating the recent Supreme Court decision defeating the Defense of Marriage Act, she wrote, "I can finally get married! Yay government! So proud of you." 

She later elaborated in a statement to E! Online, "I am very happy that gay marriage is opening up around the country and is being accepted. Former child star Raven-Symone's TV show State Of Georgia has been axed after just one season on air.

The Cosby Show cast member played the lead in the ABC comedy drama about an aspiring actress who leaves America's south in a bid to make it in Hollywood.

ABC Family picked up three new series Monday, including a comedy starring longtime Disney star Raven-Symoné.

The Great State of Georgia is a half-hour comedy centered on an aspiring actress with a big personality named Georgia (Symoné), trying to make headway in New York with her science geek best friend. Roswell's Majandra Delfino will also star. The show is executive-produced by Kirk J. Rudell (Will & Grace) and best-selling author Jennifer Weiner (Good in Bed, In Her Shoes).
