CSI: Miami star Emily Procter is a first-time-mom after giving birth to a baby girl.

The actress and her musician boyfriend, Paul Bryan, welcomed daughter Pippa last month.

Procter announced the happy news this week as she made her return to work on the hit TV show - on the same day her co-star Adam Rodriguez took up directing duties for the first time.

CSI: Miami star Emily Procter was prompted to take a pregnancy test after an old woman appeared to her in a dream and told her she was about to become a mother.

The actress announced earlier this year that she is expecting her first child with her musician boyfriend Paul Bryan. Procter admits the pregnancy came as a surprise but she was given a "bizarre" clue in a dream.

CSI: Miami star Emily Proctor has a secret hobby - she's a professional entomologist.

When she's not playing ballistics expert Calleigh Duquesne alongside David Caruso in the crime-fighting series, Proctor is tending to her extensive collection of butterflies.

She confesses to Star magazine, "Yes. I have a professional collection and during butterfly migration, I'm out collecting like crazy. Ever since I was a little girl, insects and bugs have fascinated me."

Rolling Stones rocker Ronnie Wood has reportedly been offered a cameo role in TV series CSI: Miami. Wood landed the guest slot when "CSI: Miami" castmembers Emily Proctor and Adam Rodriguez turned up at his art exhibition in Hollywood.

Proctor and Rodriguez bought some of the star's paintings and invited Wood to the set of the investigative crime series when they discovered he was a fan. A source tells British newspaper Daily Telegraph, "Ronnie was over the moon. CSI is his favorite TV show."
