Carrie Preston
In our August interview, True Blood star Carrie Preston spoke about her upcoming film That's What She Said - and today the movie makes its debut in theaters in New York and Los Angeles, as well as across all video-on-demand platforms. Carrie recently reconnected with me to discuss directing the film, how it got to the screen and what made it such an important project for her.

That's What She Said stars Marcia DeBonis as Bebe, Anne Heche as her best friend Dee Dee, and Alia Shawkat as Clementine, three New Yorkers who "embark on a day of misadventure that only New York City can offer...

Carrie Preston on 'True Blood' Season 5 and Stepping Into the Director's Chair

August 26th, 2012 11:35am EDT
Carrie Preston
Tonight marks True Blood's fifth-season finale, and Carrie Preston has enjoyed what the season has brought for her character, Arlene Fowler - even though the spotlight isn't on Arlene directly. Rather, the actress has enjoyed getting to know the history of Arlene's significant other, Terry Bellefleur (played by Todd Lowe).

"I love playing with Todd Lowe. He's so great and he's so present and he and I have the same work ethic," she gushed. "This is a great season for him and so it was really great to see the evolution of his character, to go a little bit into his past. I really enjoyed play...

At the end of season four, Sookie (Anna Paquin) defeated Marnie, but her showdown with Debbie may have had fatal consequences for Tara. Meanwhile, the Bon Temps crew were approaching a new crisis with the return of Russell Edgington, their familiar friend who ended up in a what appears to be an un-permanent cement grave.

Cast members attended the season five premiere in Hollywood on Wednesday, and Paquin showed off her growing baby bump. She a...

Anne Heche Gets Naughty And Silly In Sundance Movie 'That's What She Said'

January 23rd, 2012 6:30pm EST
THAT'S WHAT SHE SAID
One of the most surprising performances in Sundance Film Festival movies is Anne Heche in That’s What She Said. The raunchy girls comedy casts her as a chain smoking foul mouthed drunk doing suggestive sexual dances in a coffee shop. At the Q&A following the premiere screening in Park City, Heche revealed how the filmmakers encouraged her to go sleazier and lower brow.

“The worse I got and the sloppier and dumber and more ridiculous I got, the more they laughed,” Heche said. “Just like any other dumb comedian, I was like, ‘Well, then I’ll go for it!’”

Directed by True Blood actor Carrie ...

Anticipation has been building for the new season of "True Blood," and all the stars came out for the premiere in Hollywood yesterday. Stephen Moyer looked dapper in gray while his wife Anna Paquin was sexy in a black mini dress emebellished with purple sequins.

Swedish actor Alexander Skarsgard, who plays vampire Eric Northman, recently talked about filming love scenes with Paquin, who plays Sookie Stackhouse.

He told GQ magazine, "It's really clear to Steve [Moyer] and to everybody else what the deal is - which is that Anna is like a sister to me... Those love scenes take quite a bit of...

True Blood
The stars of "True Blood" have filmed a series of comedy sketches aimed at fans suffering "withdrawal symptoms" while the hit vampire TV show is off-air.

Anna Paquin, Stephen Moyer, Ryan Kwanten and Joe Manganiello are among the actors who have recorded mock public service announcements (PSAs) for "addicted" devotees ahead of the season four launch later this summer.

Moyer is seen sympathetically telling fans, "True Blood addiction is no laughing matter," while Paquin adds in a separate film, "Help has finally arrived."

Kwanten jokes, "If you tell your girlfriend you don't mind that she'...

Trying to get True Blood executive producer Alan Ball and the cast of the HBO series to give away anything about the upcoming fourth season is not easy. Oh, but how they love to tease! During Saturday's PaleyFest panel, we heard all about fairies, demon babies, amnesia (poor Eric!) and why — brace yourselves — Sookie and Bill are doomed for the time being.

Bill's not getting back into Sookie's, er, good graces any time soon. It's going to take a long while for her to get past Eric's...

Anna Paquin Talks Tongue & Bellybutton Piercings

August 24th, 2010 8:23am EDT
Anna Paquin
Anna Paquin recently revealed her history of piercings.

She explained, "I've had 10 piercings in my ear, and a bellybutton pierce (sic), and a tongue ring. My tongue, as it turns out, is not really appropriate for piercing, because the webbing is too close to the font, and the bottom barbell kept hitting against my teeth...and it gave me a lisp, which isn't great as an actress."

The bisexual actress recently tied the knot with her "True Blood" lover Stephen Moyer. The couple, who met and fell in love of the set of the vampire TV hit in 2007, tied the knot in front of a host of celebrity ...

'True Blood' Recap: Evan Rachel Wood Disappoints, People Act Stupid

August 31st, 2009 11:44am EDT
True Blood
"True Blood" is a pretty remarkable show in that the second season eclipsed the first one in terms of writing and excellent acting, which was a big deal since the first season was critically acclaimed and beloved already. There are a lot of fans who say that they liked the premiere season, but they've started to love it this season. Every episode has been strong and interesting and weird, so it stands to reason that one episode eventually had to suck. Just so that "True Blood" didn't get too arrogant. This was that episode. It didn't suck so much as ... it was kind of treading water getting...

'True Blood' Recap: Jason To The Rescue, Sookie's New Power & More

August 24th, 2009 11:40am EDT
True Blood
"True Blood" I have a bone to pick with you. Now I love you very much, especially when you go crazy on me, but the most recent episode was only 45 minutes long. That is at least 10 minutes less than what we're used to, and the shortness was definitely felt. There are only two episodes left, and I expect them to be excruciatingly long to make up for it, got it?

The show opens with Sookie dreaming about Eric again, and while it does establish her softening toward him, they're becoming slightly annoying. DreamEric is most definitely not Eric, and hopefully Sookie needs to de-Twilight her th...

Recap: 'True Blood' Final Scene Is The Most Emotional To Date

August 17th, 2009 2:08pm EDT
True Blood
Why do you have to hurt us so, "True Blood?" The more we love you, the more you hurt us. Sniff. A lot of things are shifting on this show now, as Bon Temps officially goes to hell and Dallas is wrapped up with a lot of grief and pain on the horizon. Eric proves his humanity is still intact, which is not good news for Bill at all, and Godric meets the sun. Damnit.

The show opens a few minutes before the bomb goes off, and then Bill goes flying inside to see how his beloved Sookie is. There is blood and guts everywhere, proving that more than a few vampires and humans died, including the c...

Carrie Preston Dishes About 'True Blood,' Giving Birth To Her Husband & More

Carrie Preston
"True Blood" doesn't return until sometime this summer but natural blonde Carrie Preston, who plays spunky redheaded waitress Arlene, revealed some tidbits about season two (more creatures - yeah!) and what other projects she's currently working on.

Starpulse: 'True Blood' is a little more graphic than I thought it was going to be.

Carrie Preston: Uh, yes, soft porn. It's good though, that's part of why people like it. It's surprising that way.

What can you tell me about your character Arlene in the new season?

Arlene is one of those people who is not very good without...
