Piper Perabo in Covert Affairs
The USA Network has canceled spy series Covert Affairs after five seasons.

The news was confirmed by Entertainment Weekly on Tuesday, with the website reporting that the drama, which starred Piper Perabo and Christopher Gorham, had fallen in the ratings to well below two million viewers.

The series began in 2010 and drew nearly 5 million viewers per episode before ending on December 18 with just 1.59 million viewers.

Unfortunately for fans, the fifth and final season ended with a cliffhanger.

The Worst Fashion Fails In 2012

12/21/2012 1:07pm EST
Nicki Minaj
Even celebrities can't look perfect every day. However, it takes a special disaster to be remembered for your fashion blunder for the rest of the year. Here are the Worst Fashion Fails In 2012:

Nicki Minaj: We could probably construct a list entirely out of Nicki's fashion choices this year, but that wouldn't be fair to the others. It was a growing list of cries of attention, with the zenith being her red church outfit - complete with pope.

Christina Aguilera: Fair or not, Xtina's weight was a topic of a lot of discussion in the previous years. This unflattering pair of jeans featur...

Piper Perabo Talks 'Explosive' Season 3 of 'Covert Affairs'

7/10/2012 12:00pm EDT
Covert Affairs
"I wasn’t looking for a television show," admits Covert Affairs star Piper Perabo as we chat about the show's upcoming third season, "but I’m always looking for a strong female lead. When the show came up, what I really liked about Annie is she’s true to her moral code even if it’s not the rules of the game. I thought 'That’ll be a fun conflict to play.'

"And then the writers' room and the creators, Matt Corman and Chris Ord, we all have a similar sense of humor, we get excited about the same things, we like the same things, so I feel like my imaginary world and the writers' i...

2012 Golden Globes Fashion: Who Rocked The Red Carpet & Who Didn't?

2012 Golden Globes fashion
The Golden Globes are the first big awards show of the season, and the stars came out in colorful ensembles to attend one of Hollywood's most prestigious events leading up to the Academy Awards.

There were very few fashion missteps at this year's event. "Homeland" actress Morena Baccarin wore a daring black dress that showed quite a bit of cleavage (is that appropriate?), while "Ringer" star Sarah Michelle Gellar took a chance with a blue and white tie-dyed gown (too bohemian?).

There wasn't a lot of flash on the red carpet. Few stars wore sequins (Laura Dern, Madonna, Diane Lane and did)...

TV on DVD: 'Covert Affairs: Season 1'

6/2/2011 5:00pm EDT
Covert Affairs
As USA's Covert Affairs prepares for its second season next week (June 7), Universal Studios Home Entertainment has released season one onto DVD in an eleven-episode, three-disc set. Here's my review.

The Show

Someone once described Covert Affairs to me as "Alias lite." And it does remind me of Alias, before things like time jumps and secret half-siblings. That's not a good thing, though, as I didn't like Alias. So, too, must I admit that I don't care for Covert Affairs. It's the first USA show that I'd qualify as an outright miss.

The premise of the show is thus: would-be spy Annie ...

The 5 Hottest Female Dancers On Film

2/25/2011 8:30am EST
Mila Kunis and Natalie Portman made dance films hot again. "Black Swan" has earned five Academy Award nominations, including Best Picture and Best Actress for Portman. We'll see who takes home the Oscar on Sunday.

Meanwhile, check out our list of The 5 Hottest Female Dancers On Film, and tell us if you agree.

Jennifer Beals stars as Alex Owens, a Pittsburgh steel-mill welder by day, and bar dancer by night. The film's signature scene is, of course, Alex's water-drenched dance audition, largely performed in long shot by her dance double Marine Jahan.

Piper Perabo
Actress Piper Perabo is recovering from a broken leg after a stunt went awry on the set of her new TV drama Covert Affairs.

Luckily for the Coyote Ugly star, the accident happened while she was shooting the season finale and she was able to limp around and complete her scenes.

She says, "I broke it in a fight scene in the finale. We were literally one day from wrapping.

"Luckily, I have a great stuntwoman, who was able to get my close-up, and a great editor. It was an accident and I'm fine and I'm not taking any steps back. It was just a freak accident.

"It it went as we'd rehearsed...

Golden Globes: Who's In, Who's Not & The WTF

12/15/2010 9:41am EST
Golden Globe
As reported earlier, the Golden Globe nomination list is out. Among films, ‘The King’s Speech’ leads with seven nods, closely followed by ‘The Social Network’ and ‘The Fighter’ with six apiece. ‘Inception’ and ‘Black Swan’ made strong showings as well among dramas. On the comedy side, ‘The Kids Are All Right’ – which needed a pre-Oscar boost to stay a contender – landed nominations for Annette Bening and Julianne Moore (although, strangely, not Mark Ruffalo) and for Best Comedy – where it’s a surefire winner, unless you can see some brainless foreign journalist voting for ‘RED,’ ‘Alice i...

'Covert Affairs' - Another Hit For USA?

7/14/2010 10:09am EDT
Covert Affairs
There's no denying that recently, the USA Network has been on fire in terms of new shows. 'In Plain Sight', 'Psych', 'Royal Pains', and 'Law & Order: Criminal Intent', not to mention the hit series 'Burn Notice'. It seems like the cable network has a bit of a Midas touch. Can they strike gold again, this time with 'Coyote Ugly' star Piper Perabo?

It's not an instant classic, but the pilot certainly has the potential.

During a polygraph test, we meet CIA trainee Annie Walker (Piper Perabo). I enjoyed this as an opener as we're guaranteed to meet the "real Annie", a smart, sassy, sexy spy. ...

Poplopedia: 'Covert Affairs' Is Another Hit For USA

7/12/2010 2:30pm EDT
The first scene opens with Annie Walker – a C.I.A. newbie that is hooked up to a polygraph machine and is being grilled by an examiner who asks her questions about her career, her relationships and her sex life.

Instantly, one is inclined to believe that this is a C.I.A. driven series that has a dash of sexuality and witty dialogue weaved into it. And who best to play the lead part than Piper Perabo (Coyote Ugly)?

The show is titled "Covert Affairs" and it is USA’s newest addition to their drama series roster. It’s got everything from mystery and humor to car chases and fight scenes.

Matthew Perry and Piper Perabo Dating?

3/21/2006 10:37am EST

Matthew Perry is reportedly romancing actress Piper Perabo. The former 'Friends' heartthrob is said to have enjoyed a string of dates with the stunning 'Coyote Ugly' star. A source is quoted in Daily Mirror newspaper as saying: "They just clicked. They're both very low key and seem to enjoy the same things." The relationship is reportedly Perry's first since splitting from fashion student Rachel Dunn last year.
